Phase 2 at AKV

Does anyone know what phase 2 at Kadani village consists of? they are stating that the savannah won't be open until phase 2 sometime in Sept. 2009.
Anything else opening at that time, or will everything else be complete? I'm trying to decide whether to book savannah view at Kadani for May or just leave the SV at the Jambo house, since there will be no animals at KV. I did request the giraffe trail to be as far from the construction as possible.

The new savanna is the one that will not be open yet in May. There should be part of Sunset savanna open, and it could be the whole thing by May. Phase 2 is the portion of the building that is farthest away from Jambo, and thus on the new savanna that wont be completed until Kidani is complete.

I'm not sure what you mean by "giraffe trail". There are currently 3 savannas at Jambo, and one of them will be shared by Kidani. The shared one is Sunset Savanna, and there is also Uzima and Arusha Rock savannas. I believe there are giraffes on all three. At least there were in March when we were there.

If you already have a savanna view room at Jambo reserved, I'd keep that this time.

If you want savanna view, away from the construction, you want ZEBRA trail.

BUT....We didn't find the construction to be that big a deal and sunset savanna has GREAT views of giraffes, because they are very close to the building most of the time.

I'm sorry...yes we did request zebra not giraffe, but stayed on both and like that side of the resort the best.

As noted, it looks like Phase 2 is going to be mostly the far end of the building where the new savanna will be, which will also not open until Sep. Likely, most everything else, including pool, restaurants, store, will open in May. Having seen the aerial photos which indicate the size of the Kidani resort and the distance to the end of the building that likely will not be open until Sep, my suspicion is that area won't open until Sep because it will take members from May to Sep just to walk the distance required from the parking lot to that end of the building.
