pg. 114 Unofficial Guide 2005 worth its weight in gold to DVCers...

A lot of DIS'ers participated in the making of the 2005 UG. I will probably pick one up or maybe santa will bring it. I like the PassPorter guide best. It has wonderful file pockets in the back to put in receipts, and a built in trip journal. It's been great to go back and look over it. That one I'll definitely get for one of my trips next year!

I buy a UG and PassPorter every year. Although with 3 trips planned this year I've already run out of PassPorter pockets!

I used to buy Birnbaum's every time we wne for a trip to WDW, even though I had been there somany times it really wasn't tellingme anything new. I bought the Unofficial Guide (2005) last week for the first time, and it makes Birnbaum's looklike a commercial. I had no intention of reading the Unofficial Guide in its entirety, but after starting with the introduction I can't put it down! I am learning about so many things I never knew before. And DH hasn't heard the end of it yet!

ITA. When people ask me for Disney info for their upcoming trip, I always refer them to the UG. It's money well spent to enjoy your WDW vacation.

Does the un official offer the one day touring plans of all the parks?

I nned to get one to give to my brother & his family for next year as I don't want to have to subject my family to commando style park touring.

We like to casually stroll and choose what we will go on randomly.

Thanks,

Hi folks,

Thanks very much for your kind words regarding the Unofficial Guide. It's a lot of fun to produce, and I hope it's fun (and informative) to read.

I'd like to mention that resort maps, and their room layouts, are available at no charge for most Disney resorts on our website at www.TouringPlans.com/UG. There's a link on the left-hand side that says "Free Organizer Pages." Follow that, then scroll down a bit to the section that says "Walt Disney World Resort Maps."

These maps are formatted to fit our free online Trip Planner pages, in two different sizes. The "standard" size fits most common organizers, including the Day Timer and its ilk, and the "large" size fits typical 8.5" x 11" three-ring binders.

Thanks again for your support of the Unofficial Guide. If there's anything I can help with, please let me know.

Sincerely,

Len Testa

Len--is that really you? The "cutting-edge scientist and programmer" who's also a theme-park junkie???

Thanks for visiting our post! And thanks for all the great work you do to help us see the parks better.

And tell us the truth--is it a great life, getting paid (or at least writing off the cost) to visit WDW????

I've been buying the UG for the last 5 years... this years guide is really great... I love the Jim Hill tidbits.
I also love that it is SO funny and knocks WDW when it deserves it.

where can I buy the Along the I75? I went to Amazon and they wanted $100 for a 1997 edition! What is the latest edition out. We are leaving next month and I think this would be great! Thanks

Thanks very much, dis-happy. I love these boards. You guys have the best ideas! It is indeed me, although I'm not sure my day-to-day life lives up to the "cutting-edge scientist" title. ;)

As for working for the Guide, it's just as insanely fun as you might imagine. The data collection trips are tough, but other than that, it's a hoot.

Thanks again for the kind words about the Guide.

Sincerely,

Len
