My husband sent quite the birthday gift this week. He sent a set of pfaltzgraff dishes, serving for eight. The pattern is called Ocean Breeze. One of my best friends has this pattern, and when I saw it, I totally fell in love.
Here's what it looks like.
I like it because the colors are actually very country and the pattern and the dish looks like a heavey crockery, which goes perfect in my home. And the best part is, we now have enough dishes in the pattern to all have matching place settings at the table. No more mix and match dishes!!

Very pretty blue! I have the "Village" pattern, but I use Corelle for everyday. I think the Pfaltzgraff is too heavy for my Mom to handle - she likes to load & empty the dishwasher (wouldn't want to take that job away from her!) The Village is such an old pattern, that I can't even find it at the Outlet anymore.

Ooooh! Very pretty!! I love the look of Pfaltzgraff...my sister uses it, but I also have Corell for everyday..

What a nice Birthday present! :cake: :bday:

We have the Ocean Breeze, and we love it! DH loves green, and I love blue, and we didn't want anything too fancy...so when we saw this we both said "that's it!!" We registered for 8 place settings and wound up with a lot more than 8, so I was able to return and replace with great serving dishes and such. If you want matching pieces, definitely try to visit an outlet store...much cheaper than department stores. It is heavy though! I hope you enjoy it as much as we have for the past two years!!!

We're actually going to use these for every day. We've used Corelle for years and we just don't have a matching set anymore. We also have this incredibly delicate china that we for in the Czec Republic a long time ago, so we wanted something different for every day. Also, no more babies in the house, so hopefully, we can go without breaking any pieces(wishful thinking, huh?) We've been married for almost sixteen years, and we finally have matching every day dishes. It's almost pitiful that that's important to me, but it's been nagging on me for years now.

I have Tea Rose....had it for years. Very durable. We use it for everyday (service for 12).

DS and DDIL got a set for a wedding present. New pattern, I can't remember the name. It is black ying-yang pattern. They are really liking it so far.

I'm sure you will enjoy your set.

My inlaws have Ocean Breeze - very pretty.

DH and I have service for 16 in Tandem. (plus most of the completer pieces) All we really wanted when we got married was MATCHING dishes! hehehe

LOVE it!

I have Ocean Breeze, as does my Dad. I love the colors in it! I had to laugh at your post since you said it was country - we thought it was rather traditional! :) we use it for everyday but we don't have any kiddos yet. When the kiddos come we will but some cheaper pieces.

Just wanted to let you know that I had a pattern very close to this except it was in purples and blue (can't remember the name now). We got the settings as a wedding gift and although I got rid of them when we moved (they didn't match my new kitchen), I used them when our kids were little (as in 5 and under) and even when they dropped one we didn't break one. The only difference might be is that we did not have a ceramic tile floor.

for the record - we've broken 2 bowls and a mug (well - my brother broke the mug)

luckily they are so easy to replace at factory stores/outlets!

I have had Corelle for a few years but I found the edges were chipping off too much, causing risk of pieces splintering into my hand (this happened twice). I have to be careful of infections due to medical reasons so I decided to buy a new set of everyday dishes.

I looked at a few stores but finally hit Penney's a few weeks ago and stumbled on a 75% off sale on the Pfaltzaff Summer Breeze pattern.
I got 12 place settings of dishes, 8 of a footed water glass, a veggie bowl, a large platter, a candle holder, and a gravy boat. A few days later I found the cannister set for even less than 75% off.

I really like them, they are heavier than Corelle and take up a lot more room in the dishwaher. But I am relieved not having to worry about splinters any more.

The pattern you're talking about is mountain breeze, whch is awful pretty too.

We've had "Northwinds" for probably close to 10 years (it's now "retired" or "discontinued"). Looks virtually the same as the Ocean Breeze, but doesn't have the "edge" that Ocean Breeze does. We love it. In fact, just the other day, I broke one of my salad/cereal bowls.

Actually, I think it's Mountain Shadow (which is what we finally replaced our Corelle with after 20 years).

We picked up some sale pieces in Ocean Breeze, and they go very well. That's my niece's pattern.

You're right. I mean to type shadow, and was thinking of my pattern. Yes, it's great how interchangable some of the patterns are. And if you check out pacific Breeze, it's identical to ocean Breeze.

I have had Heirloom for 18+ years now and I love it. Thankfully, I can add to it once a year with Pfaltzgraff's "By Request" program. We use it 365 days a year and it's none the worse for wear. I love it!

I've had the Christmas Heritage pattern for over 20 years. Have the regular Heritage for my everyday dishes...and the plain white Heritage accessories fit perfectly with the Christmas dishes!
