My sister will be staying with me in a two-bedroom unit at the Boardwalk Villas. Will she be able to kennel her dogs nearby? I thought that the kennel at the entrance of MGM Studios would be best. Will she need to check-in first to get her parking pass before dropping the dogs off at the kennel?

Is she going to overnight them?

I would suggest using the Epcot kennels. The reason I say this is because the walk to Epcot is so much shorter than MGM and as the owner of the dog it is her responsibility to make sure it is walked and let outside. We used epcot three or four years ago and they were very, very good. They have a nice walking area for the dogs and the staff was very accommodating. I think your sister would get tired of making the much longer hike to MGM three times a day!

Actually, even though Epcot is closer via International Gateway, I believe the kennels are all the way at the front of the park. So it would probably still be closer to go to MGM than walk all the way thru Epcot, especially from the Boardwalk villas.

Yes, I thought that MGM would be better as well, since my sister would need to walk through the entire EPCOT park to get through to the kennels at the entrance. For MGM the walk or boat will lead her directly to the entrance. Does anyone know how close the kennel is to the entrance?

I believe they are just outside the entrance. If you turn to your right as you leave MGM, the kennels will be on your right, just before you get to the parking lot.

a friend of mine asked me if "any" of the resorts allowed pets and i could not answer that, could one of you help me? thanks

I believe that the only resort that allows pets (perhaps dogs only, not sure) is Fort Wilderness, and that's only at certain site. Fort Wilderness is not your typical resort, not like the others. It is very rustic but it is loved by many. Other than FW resort no pets are allowed unless they are service animals.

Fort Wilderness only allows pets at certain CAMP sites. They are not allowed in the cabins at all.

None of the Disney resorts allow pets at the resorts (unless you are a very rich celebrity..they seem to be able to do it on occasion).

If you use the MGM kennel, please be aware that the area for walking your pet is very small. The Epcot kennel might take a little more time to get too, having to walk all the way to the front of Epcot and out the gates again, but it has a great pet walking area and it usually has longer hours (allow security will open any kennel with your paperwork if you need to walk your pet).
