Does any DVC allow pets to stay in rooms?

How easy is it to get a kennel? Last I heard, they don't take reservations.

No pets are allowed in Disney or DVC resorts. When she was able to, our neighbor looked after our pets while we were away. Now we board them with our veterinarian. Service animals, of course, are allowed.

No, none of the DVC (or any WDW resorts) will allow pets in the villas or rooms.

There are five kennels located at WDW ( One at each Theme Park and one at Fort Wilderness Campground).

They offer overnight boarding and guests must walk their pets at least twice per day.

Cost is $6 per day and $9 for overnight for WDW resort guests (more for non-Disney resort guests).

Here is a link to more WDW Kennel information.

Enjoy!

On your other thread, it was stated that no WDW resort will permit pets in the room unless they are service animals. That includes DVC resorts since they are also owned by Disney.

Service animals are the exception and are allowed in WDW resorts (including DVC) as well as Theme Parks and restaurants.

I've read that the WDW kennels are nothing to get overly excited aboout. Just the basics. If I were traveling with my dogs, I would board off property. I just googled "Orlando Kennels" and found two very upscale places right off the bat.

where are you staying -

for SSR and OKW - I like FW - short drive away or Epcot.

for VWL it would be FW or TTC - but I definitely like FW better.

for BCV and BWV - I like Studios (not really not enough running place) - but it is easier to get to than Epcot.

FW and Epcot are my favorites lots of room to run around.

there are several other kennels in the area that say - these places close at 5pm...

Spicey being a cat, likes to walk at night. Not possible with outside places. So he stays at WDW kennel generally FW. Lately we have been staying at offiste timeshare that allows pets - CWR.

but on my nights for my Disney fix he stays at FW.

the disney kennels are in Lake buena vista

both Kissimmee and Orlando are close.

Spicey will be 21 this june - he has been going to WDW kennels since he was 3 months old...

How easy is it to get the kennels at WDW? I understand they are on first come first serve basis. I'm just concerned that I get down there and there are no spaces available. Then I'm stuck b/c there is no boarding available and I'm staying on property that does not allow pets.

if you show up at FW kennel and the dog side it is fully (only happened twice). (the cat side never fills up)

they will call the other kennels and see where you can go... or if you dog is small and they don't have any cats - you may elect to go in the cat room.

there are 5 kennels - they don't fill up easily....

TTC (MK), FW, Epcot, Studios and AK.

the TTC and Epcot are the biggest. I have never know them to be full.

fw can hold around 40 dogs and 8 cats cages. (might be more). this is the smallest kennel on WDW property.

Several times when we traveled to WDW as an adendem to dog shows in Florida, we just arrived at the kennels with our 3 show dogs in tow. I believe the Epcot one is the one that has outdoor kennels available, while MK only has indoor ones. I have never used the others. The dogs were VERY well cared for and very clean when we came to exercise them and also to check them out when we went home. It was cute, because at that time, they gave certificates to each pet each day. When we got home, we could practically wallpaper the kennel with all the certificates we got for teh 3 dogs in 5 days!

BTW, we no longer combine the dog show trips with our WDW vacations. We now do them as seperate trips. Too much hassle to go to the kennels a couple times a day, and I like leaving the kennel behind when I travel, and let someone else come in and take care of my own kennel at home.

My dog stayed at the AK kennel several years ago. Now I don't know if the policy changed or not - but we were abe to go in any time and walk her. We often went around midnight - the security guards would let us in. Janis

What are the prices for the kennels? What type of paperwork do I have to show for my dog? Is it a hassle or can I just bring my vet update for my dog?
