Just wondering how Brits on this board feel about Peter Phillips renouncing his place since his fiance is a baptized RC. Do you think the law should be changed? Do you not care? How do most Brits feel about this issue? I must say that as an American I think the controversey is misplaced-if you get my drift

If Peter Phillips renounces his place does that mean any future children of the couple are excluded as well? I do know that other members of your royal family have converted and lost their place (I'm thinking about the Kent Dukedom here), but their children have not.

Took me a while for the penny to drop who he was. I guess since Princess Anne re-married the "philips" name is off the radar big time.

That is one thing that i love about the americans.. how proud they are of their country and heritage..

as you can tell.. in general the brits couldnt care less!

The only time you see the majority of british choosing to feel patriotic is during the football world cup! (I find that even more depressing!)

Didn't Princess Anne renounce his 'royal highness' status when he was born? (same for his sister) This has meant that there has been less interest in them and I know very little about him.

As 11th in line to the throne the chance of him being called upon seems very unlikely (nearly impossible!) There has certainly been no fuss made of it here - I wasn't even aware of it.
