Hello,

I'm grateful for any thoughts on hitting Peter Pan at rope drop. Does it get really backed-up immediately?

I've considered using FP+, but I'd like my family to experience the queue, which I hear is fantastic (I understand you skip the interactive queue elements when using FP+, right?).

DD is only 2, so I need to be pretty ruthless about avoiding lines as much as possible.

Many thanks.

Right.

The prime MK destination attractions at Rope Drop are 7DMT, Space Mtn., and Peter Pan.

My family does Peter Pan at rope drop and we have had very short waits - around 5 minutes. There is so much to look at in the queue that it feels like no wait at all. We would rather do it first than use a FP for this attraction. Good luck!

Peter Pan is our typical rope drop destination. DW and I are not the fastest walkers but we always get there soon enough to just walk on. But the line does build quickly. A week ago Wednesday the standby line was 70 minutes by 10am. The queue is very well done and worth the visit.

I always do PP at RD and have never waited more than a couple minutes and with the new interactive que I never wait longer than it takes to walk through it.

We went straight to Enchanted Tales with Belle and had to wait for 20 people to show up. In the future I will head straight to Peter Pan then to Belle.

A thought: If you rope drop SDMT and are able to be at the front of the crowd (gotta hold your own, here) then head straight to PP, the line for PP will have built up just enough that you will be able to enjoy the interactive queue, but it won't be so long that a 2 yo will start fussing.

A technique that is attempted daily at MK by maybe 4,010 of your closest friends.

We've done it this way ever since the mine train opened, haven't waited longer than 15 minutes for PP yet, but we know how to throw bows in the cattle chute. :rolleyes1

No, no. We really don't, but we do know how not to be pushed around. That's the ultimate Disney skill.

Yes, with the new Queue, it's actually ideal to go to PP at rope drop and if you have a 10 or so minute wait you won't mind that much. With the old queue, well, it wasn't a nice wait at all. I'd RD PP and FP+ other things. It will get a line very quickly though so go straight there. No need to run or anything, but you want to be in the first wave or so. It's popular and a bit of a slow-loader.

Thanks so much for the feedback, everyone!

I think we're going to try the RD strategy (vs. using FP+).

My 5 yo walks pretty slowly, so by the time we make it to PP I'm hoping they'll be just enough of a line to enjoy the queue (vs. rushing through it) but not too much of a line :-).

If you get to the Nursery and Tink is not flying around, step to the side and let the other Guests go by and wait for Tink to start flying.

IMHO,going through the Nursery without seeing Tink fly is missing the best part of this amazing Queue!:)

In the olden days of.....before Frozen Ever After opened the only rides that had lines at Rope Drop were Mine Train and Anna/Elsa.

Now that "Elsa has left the building" I'm not sure how the crowds are distributed.

That said all non-dwarf rides see low waits until 9:30

True, but Space Mountain is a distant third I believe. On Sunday most everyone was going to Fantasyland. When the mob reached the Tomorrowland turn off, the crowd thinned considerably for the SM folks. We got held up at the entrance for a minute or two and when we went in there was maybe 2 dozen people in line.

We did Peter Pan at rope drop on Thanksgiving day. Walked over at a normal pace and there was about a 20 minute wait. It was the first time we ever did the queue, and it was totally worth it!

if you go right at RD then you should be fine about 85% of people will head to mine train at RD so if you get there with in 10 minutes of the park opening you should be ok. ( so no need to be in the front almost running people over, but I would not shop in the stores or take a lot of pictures either)

WHile everyone os flying to the Mine Train, I head over to PP. I think that the SB queue is one of the best on property., and enjoy it every time.

Is this still true? Space Mountain is usually a walk-on or nearly for the first hour, especially if they stack the line and open 15 minutes after rope drop (which fakes a lot of unfamiliar early arrivers out.) Is that just due to high capacity on Space, or are that many people being siphoned off over to the newness of 7DMT?

We did Peter Pan at RD in November. We were at the park at opening, but did not run or anything. We still waited about 15 or so minutes.

I hesitate to say this, because I love the ride, but the new queue is so good it almost makes the ride anti-climactic. I think the ride seemed amazing back in the day when I was younger because after standing for an hour and a half with nothing to do but inch through the winding queue, they could have put us through a meat-grinder at the end and it would've seemed fun, LOL.

No, seriously, it's a classic little ride, and I love it. A good one to start of a day at MK with too, because it kind of whisks you back to childhood and gets you in that Disney state of mind.

We got to MK about 30 minutes after RD on the Saturday before Easter and moseyed up Main St. taking a lot of pictures and gawking at everything. We had a breakfast ADR at BOG and were kind of early for that, so we ventured over to Peter Pan and saw it was just a 15 minute wait. Experienced the cool queque and rode the ride and were still early to BOG.
