Pete: what video games do you play?

Now, back to the force unleashed demo download!

I would say its good but the controls could use some tweaking... I was especially annoyed with the button mashing for the walker at the end of the demo, but the graphics and the fact that it is Star Wars makes up for a lot.

my friends at work have been raving about it all day but it's taking forever to download

I've found my perfect thread

Well, lets see... I have

PS1, PS2, PSP, Xbox, Xbox 360, SNES, N64, Wii (Maybe buying a gamecube too) and DS as well as PC but don't play that as much.

Favourite games: GH 1-3 & On Tour, Rock Band, Burnout series, NFS series, the original Tony Hawk games (PS1/PS2), Skate, Zelda (Wii + DS), Mario Kart, all the Mario games, Sonic The Hedgehog (The original 2d version), Halo 1-3, Lego Indiana Jones and Elite Beat Agents. Theres also 20-billion more games I love, but I can't think of them right now.

I love gaming so much I'm going to uni for 3 years to become a developer.

I am, gladly, a gaming geek.:3dglasses

Can't you play GameCube games on the Wii?

I'm not sure, but wii and gamecube DO have different size discs :)

:goodvibes

Can't you play GameCube games on the Wii?

Yes you can. I just want a Gamecube to add to my collection. Also, where I work, a preowned (2nd hand) gamecube is £15 whereas a controller is about £12. Now I might as well spend the extra £3 and get the cube. Galdly, my boss might help me out with a memory card since he has a few.

I'm a huge gamer as well. I've had just about every system made since the Atari 2600. Even some strange ones like the Turbographics 16, the Saturn and Colecovision.

I play most games on the computer now, Call of Duty 4 is my current go to game. Of course we have a Wii, for the kids ;-). I play some mean Guitar Heros. My 9 yo loves Aerosmith now. We keep the Wii in the Family room and have a 360 in our Bonus room. The kids have a DS and GBA. Just got Guitar Heros for the DS. Its pretty cool, but will give you hand cramps.

I think I've played every game mentioned so far, I used to live in the arcade as a kid. Played games like Dragons Liar, Pac Man, Track and Field, Tron, etc...

The 360 gets the most use for games like Madden, since those games aren't very good on the Wii.

Battlefield 1942 was my all time favorite.

Finally I thread for which I can safely step out of the lurker darkness. :)

I've played many systems going back to Atari 2600. Many hours during college were spent playing EA's Madden and NHL on Sega Genesis and Civilization on the PC. Besides the obligatory DS, I have a PS2 and Xbox 360. I have the PS2 solely for Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, but I don't play it very often. The majority of my time is spent on the Xbox 360. I'm playing a lot of Civilization Revolution right now. I play most of the Xbox Live Arcade board, card, and puzzle games, like Puzzle Quest, Zuma, Catan, Carcassone, Lost Cities, Ticket to Ride. If any of you Disney gamers want to look me up, my gamertag is Janitor Beans.

Of course I have to log some time on the PC playing Civ IV.

We still have DH's old Atari, lol. Even have about a dozen games and their books. :) That is where my gaming habit started when I was a wee little lass. Then onto the Commodore Vic20 on up to my current PC. I remember spending hours typing in the code :surfweb: that was in the back of some computer magazine that my Dad got and the end result was some stick figure type game.

What a great thread!!:cool1: It's nice to see that there some of my fellow Dis'ers are gamers like me! Granted with a six-year-old in the house it's quite difficult to get game time in.:rotfl2: Especially when she's getting as addicted to the Wii and DS like me.:rotfl: I'd love to hear what games Pete's into. I, myself, love FF and Kingdom Hearts. (sound like we have a lot in common Becx N Gav!!!)
Since I got my Wii there is a Mario resurgence in the house! Super Mario Galaxy is sweet!! We are also fans of the Wii Mariokart and have been playing a lot of the Mario/Sonic 2008 Bejing Olympic game. sooo fun. Anyway, wanted to express my gratitude for starting a gamer thread! :woohoo: Play on.

I agree, it's a great thread - hope Pete lets us know what his faves are :thumbsup2

So when you play KH do you just play it or get the book too and spend hours trying to do all the cups at the colleseum, get all the items, beat Sephroth (sp?), get all the magics and weapons etc. :rotfl: I'm such a completionist, doesn't time just fly when you get into a game? Gotta love it tho :cool1:

Man, I missed Xbox Live for the 4 months my wireless was down. Got a nice session in on Skate and downloaded the force unleashed demo. Brilliant game and the force controls are spot on, now to find out how good I am at it.

Just out of interest, I heard that I might be able to play some US 360 on my UK 360, anyone know if this is true, as if so, I might be coming back with a LOT of games like Call Of Duty 4, Grid and Ninja Gaiden, since I can't afford them in this country. It's worse because I work in a games shop and they stare me in the face all day long, I just have to control my spending on games at the moment.

Also, just got a handy little tool for my DS, I think it's the same as what Luke uses.... presuming...

EDIT: Now thinking of trading in my copy of Lego Indiana Jones since I've completed all the levels and am starting to get bored of finding all the artifacts and stuff, I'll probably buy it again in a while when it's gone down in price. What game should I get next? I'm thinking Grid as COD4 is still very expensive at work, even with a 15% staff discount...

I agree I hope Pete sees this thread and gives us some answers! I'm like you Becx N Gav, a total completionist!! I can't wait for the new KH!!

I presume so :) Got mine a few months after getting my DS, and it's the best £30 i've ever spent, do you have some sites to make the most of it? If not i can PM you my main one :)
Also got my psp set up to work the same way :)

:goodvibes

Oh man Puzzle Quest is the most addictive game I've ever played - finally beat Bane and forged a "god like" item then I downloaded the expansion pack and now I'm going to be busy for the next few weeks! They are coming out with a space version which is based off of Hexic later this year.

Also, just got a handy little tool for my DS, I think it's the same as what Luke uses.... presuming...

I realized that that is probably what he was talking about after my reply :) I had one of those little tools myself and my favorite thing about it were the NES/SNES emulators.

Oh me too, we're thinking of going back and doing one or the other from the start again (once we finish FF 12!)
Any ideas when it's due out? I did a google search a month or two ago and it only really brought back Japanese sights I couldn't read - nothin official.

Thanks Senior Luke - good to know I may be able to sustain my urge for more Disney gaming fun with a DS version of KH :thumbsup2

KH 3 is unfortunately not due out for a while. :sad2: Some gamer forums are talking like 3 or 4 years. :sad1: The good news is that they are working on three other KH games to keep us busy while we wait for 3. :woohoo: They are supossedly making a game that takes place about 10 years before KH I and explains the keyblade masters and villians. Another one is called UCodedU and takes place on Ansem's computer after KH II, it's supposed to be some sort of puzzle game. The third one is about Roxas's time in the organization. Anyway I hope one of these will come out soon. I definitely going to have to get the DS version now also!:wizard:
