PETE, there needs to be a Sticky on this board, updating show status each week.

It may be more complicated than I think, but a simple Sticky updated by someone on his team each week, giving simple updates as to the status of the weeks Podcast would be nice. Statements such as: Podcast on time,
Pocast running late, will be late this evening, tomorrow morning, NO E-mail show this week etc.

I do imagine that life sometimes gets in the way, and sometimes even keeping everyone abreast of "life getting in the way" may be challenging at times.

Patience, grasshopper.

We truly do our very best to make this work each and every week.

I have even tried to make sure that I post a "Recording Now" thread.

Each and every member of the Podcast crew (other than Ferris) has a job, family, other responsibilities.....things that get in the way.

While we appreciate each and every person that listens and participates in the podcast and discussion boards, we also appreciate the understanding when things dont go exactly as planned.

I have tried to make sure to try and keep folks up to date on whats going on and when.

We appreciate your patience.

Agreed X 2 :thumbsup2

A sticky is a really good idea. Not out of a "unhappy and impatient" thing, but more of a "want to know" kind of thing. The original post is where Kevin could put his Recording Now thing and "It's up!" could go in when it's up. Not that I think "It's up!" should be the podcast slogan or anything.

And Ferris has a job. It may not be podcast-related, but he has a job, just as all babies do. Being cute, eating, pooping and slowly discovering the world around him are the elements of his full-time job - he may multi-task at times. Crying is his part-time job. :)

Your absolutely right, I guess it's a selfish thing. It seems, however that if there was a little bit of a concern by the Podcast team that there public needed to be informed about the status of the show each week, such a thing would be given some sort of a priority by at least 1 of the 8 podcast team members. A small tidbit of communication goes a long way.

I know many, wait anxiously for the podcasts to be released and don't get me wrong, I look forward to new episodes as well. That being said I can TOTALLY understand why there isn't a running sticky specifically to notify listeners as to the current stage of the newest podcast. Some days I can barely breath with my commitments to work and family etc. As I say about many things, it gets there when it gets there. Besides for those who anxiuosly check the boards for the updates, look at it this way, time spent updating the status of the next podcast is time that could potentially take away from the actual posting of the podcast. :upsidedow

You do a great job podcast crew, keep doing what you are doing . It gets there when it gets there...:thumbsup2

I'm going to stop talking now before I say something I will regret.

I can't speak for the rest of the Podcast team but I know that Kevin and I do try to come to this board and give updates about the Podcast when we can.

I also give updates on my Facebook page about the Podcast. I can't speak for this weeks show since I was out of town for a funeral.

Dude, the podcast team doesn't need to be all that concerned with the listeners. Most of us don't need that sort of concern from them. Or any concern, really. I know I don't.

The show is free. It isn't like we're paying for something we aren't getting. They could just stop doing it and that would be okay.

I'm going to stop talking now before I say something I will regret.
Uhhh...it appears that I've taken a side in something bigger than "It's up!" stickies. :headache: Whoopsie. Not my intention. Sorry.

This sounds like a good time to say how much I appreciate DU for making trips to WDW as financially feasible as possible. I appreciate the alternatives (Swan, Dolphin, Gaylord Palms) to staying at WDW property as well as Kevin's reviews of offsite restaurants (last time I stayed offsite, the meals were little short of a disaster) not to mention the wonderful "extras" (DAP, PCC).

I don't care when the podcast gets released. Just keep doing what you do best.

Umm....I guess I missed the time where it was decided the team owed us anything.

Small bit of communication? if the podcast is not up = it's not ready.

Hey Kevin, You do do a great job of informing everyone about the status of the Podcast each week. We all know your swamped with the many jobs that you do, and appreciate every thing you do concering the show. But Kevin, between you and Safetymom, you've posted 7 times on 2 separate post concerning this matter when it would have only taken 1 quick post on a sticky.

I also think it's important to remember that (I assume) Kevin and Kathy have nothing to do with editing the show - therefore don't know its progress. They would have no knowledge with which to post updates.

I'm confused.

Do I do a great job of informing everyone about the status of the podcast or as one of the eight podcast team members am I not showing enoigh concern as to whether you are informed about the status of the podcast?

Jeez .. how many latch-key kids do we have on this forum ?

Kevin, I need a telegram next time you put up the podcast please .. :teleport:

(hows that for obscure technological reference)
