What's the going rate for pet sitters these days? I just need a local teen to come over once a day to feed 2 cats, clean litter box, give a few fish flakes and the frog pellets. That's it, probably take about 10 miuntes a day What is a fair price? BTW she charges $6 hr for babysitting. TIA

How long will you be gone? We have 2 dogs, 5 rabbits, 5 guinea pigs, and a hamster - the last 2 years, they came over three times a day to let the dogs out and to clean the animals at night. We give them $200. This year, one of them will be actually staying in our house because we moved farther away. I'd probably give your sitter $100 for 2 weeks.

Our vet techs have their own side business for pet sitting. they charge $25/ day. They come 2x/day for us.

I have one Golden Retriever and the kid next door comes over when we are away. He comes three times a day and also brings in the mail and the newspaper. I give him $12 a day, is that too little?

When we were in MD we had a pet sitting service come in once a day to feed the kitties, scoop the boxes and spend about a half hour petting them. It cost $20/day.

Thanks for the input! I think about $15 a day would be fair? Like I said the whole thing would take her 10 minutes, once a day. (That's the nice thing about anti social cats LOL) We usually go away for 7 nights and she wouldn't have to do the first and last days we're away. Thanks again!

My wonderful pet sitter charges $14. per visit for my 2 dogs. She is great and worth it.

I'm a pet sitting maniac (not that I'm crazy, that I do a lot of pet sitting). I mostly sit for people that have adopted through the shelter I work for, so it's friendly situations. I charge $17/ day. More if there's a lot of meds to take care of. For a 10 min a day visit, I think $15 is plenty.
