Pet Sitter?

I am not sure what would be the correct forum for this so if I chose wrong, please forgive me.

How much do you tend to pay your pet sitter per day? We are going to be asking a friends teenager. She's very trustworthy and a great kid. I plan on asking her to come over every day or every other day to give our 2 cats interaction, make sure the food/water bowls are full and scoop litter.

We have two cats. The teenage next door has taken care of them since he was 12. On his way up our driveway he brings in the mail/paper (we have postage stamp lots so its a 1 minute walk from door to door). He comes once a day and dumps food in both their bowls, scoops the box, and refreshes their water. We have a small African dwarf frog that he drops 2 pellets in the tank mid-week. He also takes our trash bag and recycling can to the curb for our Thursday pickup.

I pay him $10 a day. At most it would take him 10 minutes including travel time haha. If he wants to stay longer and play with them he can, but he doesn't have to. He has always been thrilled with the wage, especially once he got a real job and saw how easy money this was! He goes away to college this fall and I will miss having him!

My DD just got $15 a day.

I use a professional service and they charge $17.00 per visit.

Ours was $16 per day, but now our next door neighbors sit for our dog and cat for free.

I always find usually college kids from church, that way they can use the internet and what not. I pay about 200 for a full week and buy them groceries. But you may a lot less for them not staying. How long are you going to be gone? I would probably give here about 75 for the week myself, it kind of entices them to do a good job so you may rehire her again. But that is my HO.
