Pet self heating pad?

Do pet self heating pads, beds really work that well.

Do you mean the kind that plug in or not? We have a couple of the K&H ones that plug in. Our cats love them - they don't come on until the cat is on it and they only heat to 10 degrees warmer than the room so there is no risk of burn.

We have the kind that don’t plug in. I don’t know how well they work or not but I can say our cats love them.

so do these activate when the cats step/lay on them? are they safe to put on carpet or laminate floors? do they have a timer to auto shut off after the cat's weight is absent?

The ones we’re talking about don’t have anything to turn off or on. There isn’t an electrical component and they don’t plug in. They supposedly trap the body heat from the pet and reflect it back. So it doesn’t really get hot but it does seem warm enough that my cats notice the difference. They were fighting over it so we got another one so they each have their own now
