Pet Peeves..

My number one "pet peeve" is when people say "pop" instead of soda. I dont know why but I cant take it. !!!

Extremly skinny people who say there fat.
People who litter even when you 10 inches away from a garbage can.
People who laugh at other people behind there backs.
People who nag.

& theres a lot more words that drive me insane, but I just cant think of em' right now.

I don't like the word soda so we're even ;]
What people call things depends on where their from.

In no particular order (because they all set me off equally)-

1) People who ignore you when you speak.
2) People who misuse good and well.
3) People who misuse me and I.
4) People who misuse adverbs (meaning, -ly is appreciated. The person wasn't walking slow. They were walking slowly.)
5) When people don't capitalize "Internet".
6) People who don't believe in punctuation and just type in one big run-on sentence. Can you tell I'm a grammar Nazi?
7) Slow walkers.
8) People who cannot respect other people's opinions. You may not agree with them, but then agree to disagree.
9) People who say that they hate life.
10) People who say that they hate their siblings. This one drives me absolutly nuts. You're lucky to have them, stop complaining.
11) People who say that 'I love you' to their bf/gf after dating for a week. That's a very strong and important thing to be saying that early and soon after knowing them on that level. My peevedness (new word I may have just created) increases drastically when these people proceed to say that they could never hate anyone.
12) People who say that they are fat all the time. I'm at the point now where I'll just say 'yup, you are' and walk away. Don't be fishing for compliments from me because you're not going to get one and I'm sick of hearing it.
13) Possibly one of the ruddest things in the world, people who use 'gay' as a way to describe something stupid. It is so unbelievably disrespectful.
14) Close talkers
15) People who stop in the middle of the hallway.
16) When on the first day of school you see people who you KNOW saw each other not two full days ago run up to each other and give each other massive hugs and screech things like "Oh my God, I missed you so much" JUST because it's the first day back to school.
17) General ignorance.
18) People who don't seem to realize that directionals were meant for something and that they aren't an option or a little toy to play with when they get the urge.

Haha you copied your original post from my thread. I still love #12. I swear I'm oing to do that one time. :rotfl:

-People who think they are better than everyone else.

-When you apologize to someone for standing their way or bumping into them and they just give you a dirty look and run off.

-Slow walkers.

-People who cannot respect other people's opinions. You may not agree with them, but then agree to disagree.

Share and comment upon some of your pet peeves..

Mine are:

-kids who don't do well in school accusing the kids who do that they only have book smarts and no common sense..you sort of need both to do well in school IMO and saying you have common sense is a way to make yourslef feel better for not doing well in school

-kids who curse alot! please, show me that you have some sort of command of the english language! when every other word is an expletive, crude, or inappropriate, it suggests lack of intelligence and poor vocabulary

-kids who brag about their illegal activities..please! in addition to being downright stupid (anyone could hear!), this bragging is extremely attention seeking. i think that the whole "i'm so cool because i flout the rules" thing, usually expressed with several unprintable words, is unfortunate. it doesn't speak well for our generation either..

-though i fully understand that it is each person's choice as to how they regulate their appearance, i must add tattoos and excessive piercings to the list. i find them very unattrative. how will that classy tattoo look 50 years from now? and i also think that piercings look best when they are A) minited to the ears and B) not in abundance.

-gauged earrings..ew!

-sloppiness-i am really annoyed at sloppiness. everyone has their own style, but i think that the whole backwards hat and gym shorts look should be left behind at...the gym!!

-tweeny bopper celebrity crushing-good god! you will probably never meet the person. there are probably a million other people with the same crush. AND to the celebrity, you are just another one of the fans taht falls into the "slightly disturbing/frightening) category.

-people who worship the ground that the celebrities walk on. these people think that everything celebs do is "okay because they are under a lot of pressure. meltdowns are okay and inddecencies should be excused because ,at that age, stuff happens." puh-lease. i'll name a few. justin timberlake, britney spears, lindsay lohan, nude girl, etc..

more to come..

I have to say that you would probably hate me in real-life. I swear like a sailor! And I have gauged ears...and I'm getting several piercings and tattoos once I'm 18.

But, I must respectfully differ on the swearing indicating a small vocabulary. I swear a lot and I have, as my English teacher calls it, an "extended vocabulary for my age". So maybe its just people that you know. Anyway. My pet peeves are:

*People who are too quick to judge others.
*People who use big words in sentences just to seem smart.
*People who stop to talk in the middle of the hallway inbetween classes.
*People who use "there", "their", and "they're" in the wrong context.
*People who use "your" and "you're" in the wrong context.

There's more...but I'm lazy today.

Yup. For all pet peeve threads I go back and find an old one and copy and paste what I posted. It's mostly because if I type it all up again, I'll just get angry. :thumbsup2

Sorry - everyone has those things that set them off. Grammar happens to be a big chunk of mine.

- When people misuse the word gay
- Loud chewing/breathing in my ear
- When people lie
- When people constantly curse
- When freshman, sophmores and underage kids brag about how many times they have been drunk
- When people constantly brag and think they are better then everyone else
