Pet peeves about the parking lot tram

I just got back from the parks and it is amazing to me what people do when they see the tram.

The tram to the parking lot announced 6 times no further boarding. But of course people kept streaming onto the tram. There was an empty one behind us waiting for us to pull out so it could load.

Then there are those that wait in front of the line. Do they really think they can get on faster or what? The tram slows down because they aren't standing where they should be.

Do this people think this is the last tram ever to the parking lot? It was 3:00 in the afternoon.

Does this bother anyone else or is it just me?

My favorites are the "All strollers must be folded... we cannot move until all strollers are folded. Once again, all strollers MUST BE FOLDED. Yes, that includes people wearing blue shirts."

Did they think it applied to everyone except them?

*sigh*

Yet another reason to use Disney Transportation. Of course when the stroller is being used a s a wheelchair I believe we get a pass on this, right?

Safetymom, it's not just you. I believe the vast majority of us are in total agreeance with you. It is the rudeness in general that we should not have to tolerate. WDW is suppose to be the "Happiest Place on Earth" but there are those who are determined to rub their anger and rudeness off on those who are trying to enjoy the happiness. It seems as though those type of people think that nothing applies to them except to be the first in line or to get the first seat regardless of who is in front of them or what position they were in line.

When a stroller is being used as a wheelchair on a bus, it needs to be strapped down just like a wheelchair. Strollers and wheelchairs alike must be folded at all times on all parking trams.

You just described my sister. Would make all 10 of us run from a mile back when she seen a tram pull up. Like there isn't going to be another one. It was so frustrating.

My favorite to is when they say the max per row and some still feel they are entitled to that one extra sitting on someones knee.

I could not believe the people who kept coming even after they announced no further boarding. We waited at least ten minutes one time because people just ignored the tram driver. I don't understand it either.

Really just another example of people who chose not to follow rules. Mugs, room occupancy, age misrepresentation, pool hopping, monorail resort parking abuse the list seems endless.

Special needs strollers are often specifically designed to be used for transport and those do have safe tiedown points fro securing in the bus. Regular strollers being used as a wheelchair (which basically means they can go in lines for rides) are not safe to tie down and ride in during a bus trip.

Indeed, I would agree... a cheap umbrella stroller is not safe to tie down and ride in, but some parents insist.

We missed the last showing of Playhouse Disney one afternoon due to the 15 minutes it took for us to get from the parking lot to the front entrance of MGM! The delay was caused by stragglers in the lot who took their sweet time walking to the tram even though several loud announcements were made that we were about to leave and if these people wanted to get on they needed to move a little faster. Every time we tried to pull off, more people were coming (and I don't mean running to catch it, but walking at a slow pace, saying "wait for us."). Aaargh! Next time I'll walk.

I saw several new peeves last night. It was at closing at MK. I was in the line to board the first row of the tram car. People came from two rows over to board that row. The first time the lady sitting there kept remarking on how "smart" she was to do that. The second time the people just pushed their way in front of us. We almost didn't get into that tram either.

Why stand in a line if all you are going to do is push in front of everybody? Do people leave their manners at home?

Nope, they don't leave them at home, they simply never had them to begin with. The entitlement mentality and of course, you are invisible. :)

One trip we had a tram driver who could barely speak English. We had him twice during a trip. People who were not familiar with the parking lot were missing their stops. Nobody could understand a word he said. Three-fourths of the tram were still on at the last stop. We laughed so hard the entire time that we were crying. We were calling out the stops to the people who were by us. Good thing we were in a good mood. I'm laughing just thinking about it.
