I don't know what class of people it puts me in, but I believe that unconsiously I say it, too. So don't most people I don't.....

That's what it was like when I first heard it. I had no idea what they meant. Were they agreeing with me or not?!?

I've never heard it like that, but I have heard a variation of it. "I love pizza." "So don't we all."

My parents have some that drives me insane! Boughten and Broughten. "I had boughten that from the store." or "I had broughten that from home."

Oh, and I just thought of another one for behave... "Are you beinghave yourself?"

Never heard it either. DH's family is from PA, so they have a lot of interesting words, like: yinz, yinzselves, filim (film) and some others. Maybe that "so don't I" is a regional thing, just a thought.

My neighbor says drawling instead of drawing. I always thought it was peculiar, she is a teacher, too. My middle child also says drawling, I'm always correcting him, "Oh, you mean drawing." Honestly, I have no idea where that comes from, none of us says that.

DH grew up in a town that was only 45 minutes from where I grew up. Maybe it's a micro-regional thing.

"yinz" ? Is that supposed to mean "your"? I've never heard that one.

Sandy, I never asked my MIL, she was really the one that used those words. I'm guessing it could mean you or your, I really don't know. I was born in a Caribbean island, so I have my own language "issues".

Ugg-yes. DH's mother says it and it drives us crazy. "So doesn't she." It makes NO sense! She is from MA by the way.

No one around here says that, but I have heard it before in movies, etc, and have seen it mentioned on the DIS. I figure it is just a sort of Pennsylvanian version of "y'all". Kind of like "young 'uns", only it's "you 'uns" and it comes out sounding like "yinz". Maybe .

So. . . .Yinz is to "you ones" as y'all is to "you all". Everyone got it now??

As for the original post and the "So don't I", I have never heard that before either. But it would drive me bonkers. It must be a very small regional thing.
