Pet Lovers

We take our 2 cats to be vaccinated once a year when they have their annual exams. They are indoor cats, but we board them once or twice a year, and their shots must be up-to-date to be boarded.

...My current dog is younger and is in agility training...

Is that where pets go to learn their ninja moves for the movies?

The gentleman to the left goes to the vet at least once a year and he gets his exam and shots, with the exception of rabies, which is once every three years. It's about $250 each year for everything.

It does seem that the real money comes in when you have to take them in for teeth cleaning. This past week, we had to drop a grand for a cleaning, tooth extraction, x-rays, antibiotics, pain meds, etc. and as we were leaving, the vet tech was trying to convince me to buy a $20 bag of glorified rawhide chews, a $20 toothpaste starter kit (we brush his teeth with a flouride-free toothpaste from Petsmart, I think I'll stick with that!) and a $20 bag of tartar control biscuits (again, I'll stick to what I find at Petsmart; Nutro, Greenies and Nylabones seem to keep the plaque and tartar in check. His teeth weren't that grimy but they kept hounding me to get them cleaned -- I went ahead with it since he is almost four.) We have VPI, so we'll probably get reimbursed a cool $60;) (I'm exaggerating, it'll probably be $65.) Luckily, we'd gotten our income tax money, so some of that went to his bill. If anyone has a position open for a small dog, let me know. This one could really use a job:laughing:.

We must really LOOOOVE him

My kitties go in twice a year for a check up and shots. I know with pets sometimes it's hard to tell if things are wrong so I like them to be checked out every few months. They also clip their claws, which saves me from being scratched to pieces!!!

Cheeto used to go in every 2 months because he had allergies and needed shots but that seems to have cleared up. Magic has been in a lot lately because of her litter tray issues, but thank goodness she seems to have gotten over that little hissy fit!
