We're planing a trip for Thanksgiving '08 and this time almost the entire family is going. I'm worried about my dog. I'm definately not leaving at home alone for a week, and I'd rather not put him in a kennel if I can help it (I don't like the idea of my little pooch in a cage scared). I'd like to have him travel with us and have a small kennel to put him in at the house when we go to the parks. I was hoping to find a pet friendly rental home near WDW. The closest we've found so far was 35 miles from the parks, and it was a $350 non-refundable pet deposit. The rest of the family doesn't want to stay that far away and have to drive that far every morning. I know you guys are good at finding stuff and most of you already have contacts!

Try vrbo.com for vacation rental homes. Most homes are not pet friendly but a few are. This is one listing I found right away: http://www.vrbo.com/143650 Keep checking as they have hundreds of listing on this site.
Good luck!

I'm moving this over to the Orlando Area Resorts & Attractions board where most of the talk on vacation home rental is ...

Thanks,

Knox

I just got though asking about pet rental homes in my "questions about rental homes " thread but haven't got a response yet.
Whenever you go could you please do a follow up and let us know where you stayed and how it was, that would be so helpful.
I to travel with my doggie and I don't want to crate him all day he's very well behaved in the house. I have seen plenty of places where you can stay but you have to crate when your not there, I don't want to do that.
Also so many places look great online but then you get there and it's a freckin nightmare, that why I would rather have word of mouth.
If you come across anything good please do post, I'm planning a trip in 2009 thanks.

Sorry about that Mod, I mainly only visit 1 area of the forum and I didn't know what was in the other areas.

HunnyPots, that looks like a good website. I'll check more into detail to see what I can dig up. Unfortunately, we've got at least 10-12 people going, and may be adding more before we actually plan this trip. It's going to be hard to find such a big house, close to the world, and pet friendly. Thanks!!

They are out there. VRBO has quite a few. Just don't leave it until the last minute because they get booked up fairly fast. I have some saved on my other computer. I'll list them for you when I get it back.

look at what ggchicago send you.

those have been verified as pet friendly.

you can't go by the paws on vrbo - some houses say pet friendly on vrbo - but when you look further they are NOT.

If you don't find anything ask your vet if they offer boarding, also most places offer playtimes so that the dogs get a break.
