Hello fellow Disney lovers and animal lovers! I noticed there are a few different threads about Pet-Friendly hotels. Maybe we could all post our experiences about ones we have used. I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express right outside of Hotel Blvd. The rooms are nice, continental breakfast, and obviously close to Disney. I'm looking to find others since I'm going to Soap Weekend with a friend in Nov. and its booked. My DH is going to take our two DS to Universal, and he will have the dog. Anyone know of any nice hotels, of course that take pets, between Disney and Universal??? I so wish Disney would build a pet-friendly hotel on property. Just think of all the themes they could use!!!pluto: :goofy: :dogdance: paw:

Here is one:

Residence Inn Orlando Lake Buena Vista
11450 Marbella Palm Court
Orlando, Florida 32836 USA
Phone: 1-407-465-0075
Fax: 1-407-465-0050

They have a $100 non-refundable fee to have a pet though.

Here are the other ones I found on petswelcome.com:

Orlando
Imperial Swan Hotel & Suites, Orlando, FL
Red Horse Inn, Orlando, FL
Masters Inn Kissimmee (Orlando), Orlando, FL
Residence Inn SeaWorld, Orlando, FL
Crestwood Suites, Orlando, FL

I'm feeling your pain, I have been trying to book a pet friendly hotel ( that's not a dump ) for over two weeks now,we wanted to go to just Universal next year ( for money reasons ) and I've been looking into a nice CLEAN hotel every since, alot of hotels allow pets but you have to kennel during the day and I don't want to do that...the only reasonable hotel I have come across was Comfort Suites Universal, you can take your pet for 49.00 per week and they get a " pet perk package " upon checkin ( alot of goodies ) , the only thing is the reviews are mixed and I really don't want to stay somewhere that gives me the creeps. Please report if you find something nice. Wanted to stay at a Universal Hotel since they allow pets but my goodness couldn't touch that price, it was so expensive. Holiday Inn by Universal takes pets but you have to kennel during the day, Clarion by Universal is 25.00 cleaning fee plus 10.00 per day, that's just to much...that's more that Fort Wilderness Campground.:rolleyes1

if you are going to US/IOA then definitely stay in a Universal hotel.

they love pets.

Spicey definitely had one of his best times at their hotels.

www.universalorlando.com

you can get a discount with AAA or get annual pass to US. Sometimes there is adiscount through entertainment

We've stayed in all 3 Universal on-site resorts. They have a very nice pet friendly program. They really go out of their way to let you know your pet is more than welcome. You can leave them in the room, while you're away. You do need to be there for housekeeping to come in & clean. If that's important to you, you can make advance plans with the staff to arrange a convenient time for cleaning. I just make our bed, & straighten up the room, & my hubby takes the trash out & trades dirty towels for clean ones. I always make the beds & tidy up the room whether we have our 4-legged baby girl with us or not, so it's not a big deal to us. Also, it's easy to check in on them often, since the resorts are within walking distance to the parks.

I know what you mean about WDW needing a pet friendly resort. I called the Swan/ Dolphin once to inquire about it, because Starwood's site states they do allow pets. I was told Disney wouldn't allow them to. :confused3

The nicest pet friendly hotel near WDW that I know of is the Omni Championsgate. Unfortunately, it's still not very close. I don't have any personal experience staying there, so I can't personally recommend it. I have heard it's very nice.

IMHO, there needs to be a nice PF resort closer to WDW. We now go to UO way more than WDW for this very reason.

Sorry, it wasn't my intention to kill this thread. ;) Does anyone else have a "pet-friendly" hotel experience they'd like to share? There has to be more people on here who travel with pets. :wave2:

I'm replying to my own thread. I've booked my husband and boys at the Comfort Inn on Palm Pkwy, just outside Disney. I was able to get an internet rate of $62.97 plus a $10 per night pet fee. The pics look really good. I hope that it's as nice as it looks. I will post again when they return.

Thinking about Residence Inn LBV or Sheraton Safari with a small dog who loves to travel. We haven't been yet though, so those two considerations are just based on photos and reviews here on the Dis and other places online.

My travel buddy Dillon (pic below) and I go to WDW together every summer driving down from NY. We always stay at the extended stay deluxe chains. They have no weight limit on a dog (he is a 73 lb english pointer) but a one time non-refundable $75. fee for him (no matter one night or 3 weeks or longer) suites have a full kitchen/internet access/etc much too much to list. I already booked for next summer for the one on Palm Pkwy think I got a $64 or $65 night rate..I have been using them for yrs (never been to this particular one) and have never been disappointed places are imaculate, staff very friendly too ;)
