I never posted about the special rate postcards until yesterday and so of course, one of them showed up in today's mail for a reduced rate at a moderate resort(smile). So, now I have a question and hope someone here will know the answer. Is it possible to use the postcard for a value resort reduction and not for a moderate?

Thank you in advance, as the people here are so helpful!

I would call and ask CRO. There have been reports of folks like you (lucky duckies, I am jealous ;) ) who got a moderate postcard, and were allowed to use it for a value resort. All they can say is no, right?

Congrats on your postcard!

I got the email, not the postcard, last week offering the Mods for $79. I called and asked about using the code at the value resorts and they said it was OK. I got Pop Century for $49 in January.

How lucky you both are!! I am still hoping and waiting for some pixie dust to come my way for an email or postcard offering!! I have all but given up on room only codes for early Feb. I am so glad to see that someone on our boards is still receiving the emails and/or the postcards!! Have a great time!!

I got the postcard today also- Moderate for $79 for Jan. and Feb. I called because we have plane tickets already to go in June. I was told that the rate cannot be extended, so I will just have to hope that I am on the list and maybe I'll get another postcard that is good for June.

Does anyone know exactly what triggers whether someone receives these postcards or emails?

does anyone have the codes for those cards??

My spouse just got off of the phone and we have reservations for Pop Century the first part of February! This is the first time that we have stayed on property for almost 2 years. I honestly don't know what triggers the postcards and why some people get them and some people don't.

Sometimes the postcards are in my name and sometimes in my spouse's name. It seems very random, unless they are targeting those of us in the frozen north for some reason(smile). We wouldn't have even thought of going if the postcard hadn't shown up in todays mail.

When my spouse called to check on reservations the first thing they did is ask for the long number on the postcard and then confirmed that he (well, me actually)(smile) was the person the card had been sent to, so it seems that WDW is only allowing reservations made in the name of the person the card is sent too, as this reservation is in my name. She also told us to bring the postcard along, so it is now in a little folder labelled "Disney 2004" along with our confirmation number!

EpcotBill!!! It was your post I was remembering in refering Figaro. Thanks for chiming in.

Yes, Fig--do tell, did you get the $49 rate??

Congrats again everyone!!

Thank you, everyone! Yes, we got the $49.00 a night rate ($54.64 with tax). She wanted to know what time we would arrive, but my spouse had to tell her that we hadn't bought the plane tickets yet, since the room was MUCH more important than the tickets(smile).

I am so excited! And looking forward to staying at Pop Century. We have stayed at the Contemporary, Carribean Beach, Port Orleans Riverside, Port Orleans French Quarter, Coronado Springs Swan, Boardwalk and All Stars Music and have enjoyed all of them. I know that a lot of people have a hard time moving between value, moderate and deluxe resorts, but we just enjoy staying in a variety of places and have never had a bad experience at any of the hotels. Our first trip in over a year will be this December and we are staying way off-property at the Vistana Resort(smile) and I am sure we will have a wonderful time there too.
