anyone use personalized itinerary planning??

i've looked at -
mousepal
tourguidemike
touringplans

i thought i would be able to enter the attractions, restaurants etc and then would be given a detailed personalized itinerary based on this info.

is there such a thing out there??
if so, what?
if not- anyone use the touringplans - $6.95 subscription ones? any good???

I've never used an itinerary planner, but have also seen them on E-bay. I prefer to make my own itinerary so I know exactly what's involved. ::MickeyMo

I know of one more service that you can use. PM me if you'd like to know more. Not sure about how advertising rights and what not work on here.

For what you expect, do NOT go with Tour Guide Mike. Despite the fact that the main service is called an Automated Vacation Planner, it will not take all of your input (parks, ride preference, dining preference, etc.) and spit out a minute-by-minute itinerary. Mike's site has a lot of great information, but 95% of it is in article form. You really need to dedicate a lot of time to reading his individual articles, and then process that information yourself to determine the best itinerary for accomplishing your goals.

Touringplans.com will do exactly what you want, but it can be a little pricey. This is the same system used to create the generic touring plans in the Unofficial Guide to WDW. You might want to browse through a copy at your local bookstore. They have a number of different plans for different groups of folks. My 2004 copy has 6 different touring plans for the Magic Kingdom alone. You can select the best one for your party depending on whether you have all adults in your group, kids, are touring the park in 1 day, 2 days, etc.

I haven't used the UG touring plans in a few years, but I remember being very happy with the results when I did.

thanks-- but am i missing something here? i thought i once saw this on their website -where you can buy specilized plans but i can't find that now.

i can only find the 'subscription' fee of 6.95 - which states "We are happy to make available more than 45 of our most-requested touring plans for your next visit to Walt Disney World for only $6.95."

where can i find the individualized plans?

I guess they are de-emphasizing the personalized plans. The guy who runs that web site, Len Tresta, is a forum member here. Hopefully he will see this thread and chime in. If not, send him an email at the web site and I'm sure he can fill you in on the details.

Len has been trying a number of new, attractive planning services on the site. Guess I missed this one. :)

Honestly, the $7 offer sounds really attractive to me. The personalized plans were going for something like $12-15 per park, which can get a bit expensive. Take a look at the descriptions of the individual plans and see if any of them would fit your needs.

If you still would prefer something personalized, get in touch with Len and see what he has to say.

No, you're not going crazy, but with planning a Disney vacation, you could well be on your way  .

I used Len's personalized itinerary service this past May. We only had 1 day in the parks and I really needed help with getting my kids to the "must see" attractions. It was very helpful to us and saved a lot of time. I also used Tour Guide Mike when we went this past December. As a previous poster mentioned, you have to sift through a lot of articles. It was well presented, but in the end, you created your own itinerary based on the information that was given. I'd also go to your local bookstore and take a look through the UG. There are many touring plans already created, based on differing factors. One may already apply to your situation. It's a great book to have.

basically, i've been reading a ton of websites, UG and Brinbaums fluff, er uh book. i am generating my own itinerary and inputing it on the touringplans.com site- which seems pretty good. i'm disappointed with mousepal, tho! $$ down the drain!

Any planners out there to do day by day on the pc ? For free ? :rotfl2:

I would love to know this too. . .but not for the planners to do it, for me to fill the info in and be able to print it out. ..like parks for the day, dining information and PS's. does this exist anywhere, a nice template for free???

The Unofficial Guide has a free trip planner that you can print out and take with you. Check its website and look for the words "Free Trip Planner."

Sorry, I guess I should know this but I don't - what is the Unofficial guide, what is the link to that site? Thanks!

Maybe I can help. How "personalized" are you looking for you itinerary to be?

I signed up for Tour Guide Mike and then requested a refund, definitely didn't seem worth the money. I since signed up for tourplans.com and still haven't figured out how to get the personalized itinerary. Although for 6.95 a pop, it will be cost effective, if I can figure out how to get one (Len???). We have a group of 8, 2 "active seniors" (although my husband and I don't consider ourselves to be seniors at all, that seems to be the category we fit into), the parents, 4 kids, 14, 9, 8 and 7. So I'd like to get something maximizing a park in the morning, back to OKW for the afternoon and utilizing the new evening extended hour feature for whatever night is applicable. Hope I can figure it out!
