Personalized Ears outside the park?

We arrive on July 8 but won't enter the parks until July 9 for my partner's birthday. We want to pick up our hoppers, though, and see if we can get personalized mouse ears. Do they sell them at World of Disney in Downtown Disney or elsewhere outside the park - or can we at least get standard ears outside the park?

Thanks,
Dirk

If you go onto the Disney store online, they are now selling customized mouse ears. You order them and have them shipped to your house before you even leave home. Not the same feeling, but you can buy the standard ones now and when you get there you can choose from a ton of different styles to fit your trip :)

D'oh! I should have thought about that - like last week. We leave the house Tuesday. :(

As far as style is concerned, Mickey black is just fine for Jim but I was hoping a Downtown Disney store would do them - think there's on at WDW Downtown Disney, just not sure about Disneyland.

hmm, YOU can get into the park without a hopper.

Go to Guest relations booth on the left hand side of the park, ask them for a shopping pass. They will hold a credit card while they give you a pass to enter the park and allows you 2 hours to shop. Just explain that you just need to go get a hat really quickly. When you get that done, you go back to guest relations with the receipt and they will release your credit card info.

not sure if they will do this at the ticket booth though, but do ask them!

That's a great idea! Now, which store would be able to sell me monogramed Ears? That would be cool!

Right. :) Go through the tunnel on the right, past the bank & Opera House & you'll see the hat shop. You can make customized Mickey ears there & have them embroidered.

:)Albort, sorry to question you, but I thought I remembered seeing on this board that the shopping pass had been discontinued last year. Is that wrong?....or did they start offering it again? Also, I thought I remembered seeing that World of Disney had gotten the embroidery machines to make personalized ears and is now offering them there. Do you know if they are doing that ?

hmm, i never heard of that. if so, than i may be wrong about the whole shopping pass. Anyways, if thats the case. Simply explain to the guest relations, im sure if its for just a hat for a celebration, the CM will create the magic by making it for them.

World of Disney has a name tag station, but i dont recall seeing a hat embroider in there. but i havent been in there for a year so i cant really tell you.

We were there last week and they do have hats at the World of Disney Store in DTD. The monogramming machine is in the back right of the store. I think I saw it on our way to the bathroom.

Here's the info. about the shopping pass that I was looking for. :) (It's from October, 2008)

...The Disneyland Resort has discontinued an offering known as the "Shoppers Pass." Under this little-known program, customers who wanted to purchase something from a store inside Disneyland or Disney's California Adventure could get a pass valid for one hour, presumably enough time to get to the store, purchase the item and exit the park. Customers who did not return within an hour were charged for the price of a one-day ticket. Now that the program has been discontinued, customers who want to purchase merchandise available only in the theme parks will need to use Disney's DelivEARS service.
