We are going to be staying at the WL for four days during the second week of December...we are doing an early Christmas celebration with my parents who live in Florida.
Anyway...mom and I were thinking of bringing a small wreath with hanger for each room door and a small tree for each room as well as some stockings for the dresser....I know it sounds wierd but whenever we would travel for Christmas we would always decorate our rooms...
So has anyone ever done this? and if so What other decorations did you bring?

Thanks

I have res. for OKW 2 wks prior to Xmas and plan to get tree and string lights on balcony. Have gone to WDW almost every year around the same time and lots of hotel rooms have lights strung in the windows and trees in the rooms. Go for it!:Pinkbounc

It doesn't sound weird at all. We plan on doing the same thing. Already bought our stockings(old ones were getting awful), and am buying Disney ornaments a few at a time for the small tree we are planning on buying.

Yeah! I am so glad to hear my mom and I aren't the only ones.
Lights for the window sound great...we may need to do that.
Thanks again

I know another Dis-er who has a live fully decorated 5' tree in their room every year! :earsgirl:

We are celebrating our first Christmas in the world this year, and due to the wonderful suggestions from fellow-dis's, we have purchased a 4 ft tree with lights, and plan on decorating our balcony as well! I bet the hotels look beautiful! We are also bringing DS's stockings/holders. Can't wait! AKL/GF here we come!

Window clings are good and easy to transport. We have the disney characters.

We are off to AKL in about 2 weeks. That will be it for us until next year or 2004 around Christmas. We plan on decorating our room with the kids help, just like when we trim the tree at home. Put on the Disney Christmas music, get some hot cocoa and have fun!!

PS: Don't forget the Christmas cookies!!!

I love to do this! We always stay at a moderate, so don't really have a lot of room - however, we manage to squeeze in: a small table top tree, decorated with tiny ornaments, gold ribbons and twinkle lights; a small round Christmas themed tablecloth; stockings; wreath hanger and small wreath; a few Christmas themed plastic dishes and paper cups to hold fruit, snacks and drinks. We also take a few Christmas decorations to hang from the armoire knobs, bed posts or any other thing we can find. Needless to say, we drive - however, all of this stuff could easily be picked up at Super Walmart in Kissimmee for only a few dollars, if you had a rental car.

When we arrive back from the parks, Mousekeeping usually has the twinkle lights turned on (you can see them through the window), everything's arranged as well as space will allow, and the room really looks "Christmassy".

Seek and ye shall find… Door Decoration. That particular decoration was placed on the inside of my BWV door by my Mom last Christmas (bless her little heart!). My Mom also put decorations on the outside of our doors, however, I don't seem to have any photos of them.

Here are some more room decoration photos:
Christmas Decorations - 1
Christmas Decorations - 2
Christmas Decorations - 3
Christmas Decorations - 4 (okay, Disney provided our balcony decorations!)

If you want Disney to provide you with elaborate holiday decorations, just give them a call (with your credit card number ;) ). This was what Disney provided for us in our AKL suite.

Whatever your heart desires can come to you. *Sigh* I hope your family has a lovely holiday at WDW. It is magical at that time of year.

Great pix....I just love these boards now I have so many more ideas....I think I will be calling mom this evening...I love planning a xmas WDW trip...
thanks everyone

LvsTnk, thanks.

Faeflora, many of us here on the Dis will now expect to see photos of how you & your mom decorated your room, so take plenty of photos and don't disappoint us! I can't wait to view 'em. Christmas will be here before you know it. :D
