okay, so we leave in a couple of weeks and i really need to start buying/packing our personal first-aid kit we will carry with us...

from reading the boards i have gathered that following items should be included...

* band-aids
* mole skin --- not sure where to buy this as i have only heard of it on the boards --- if i have mole skin, do i still need band aids???
* sunscreen
* advil
...

that's all i have so far, what else does everyone recommend??? --- our daughters have been to our local theme park, but we usually only go for a few hours and we have never taken any sort of first aid kit with us...they have never been anywhere near the size of disney, so any advice would be greatly appreciated...

also, we all have a good pair of keens that are super comfy, but the girls are complaining of their feet sweating ... any remedies to this without having to wear socks???

thanks!!!

I like to have some after bite for those bee stings and bug bites
an few ice packs that you break to get cold
and some benedryle
atiobiotic cream
antiseptic wipes
eye wash
this is some of the things in my travel first aid kit, its nice to have you never know, I like to have it in the room at the resort and a small one to have in our bag

i bought a great travel sized, soft sided first aid kit from drugstore.com that had everything in it one may need.... all i added to it was kids motrin and some kids benadryl tabs. I am restocking the kit for this years trip. It is so handy and very compact.

You can get moleskin at Walmart. It can be found in the foot care area. Since it is used for blisters, you will still need bandaids for cuts. First aid cream (like Neosporin)is a good idea too. It can be used on cuts, bug bites, etc.

I would also add a little sewing kit (just a needle and thread) - for any buttons that may fall off. They have the little ones that only cost a $1 or so and are just credit card sized.

bug spray/wipes (you never know...)
chapstick
cough drops
eye drops
tylenol PM

that's all I can think of w/o going and getting mine. I like to pack everything, including the kitchen sink!! :rotfl:

I have found that buying the pre-medicated adhesive bandages saves me from needing to take neosporin along. Also, we are taking alcohol swabs (like a moist towelette, individually wrapped) for any other needs. They take up so much less space. You might also want to take some aloe gel just in case. I put a small amount in a travel container, as you don't want to have to pay Disney prices for it.

Personally, I find moleskin to be an annoyance. I think the blister bandages they sell now work better - and they don't require cutting. They also stay on for a couple days. I prefer, however, to just avoid blisters - which is why I cover all of our feet in Body Glide daily. :thumbsup2

My first aid items:
-Body Glide
-Band-aids
-Blister band-aids
-Neosporin travel spray thingy
-Motrin for the whole family (child and adult)
-Kids Benadryl
-Zyrtec for the whole family
-Anti-diarrhea medicine
-Nail clippers (also utilized for hacking wristbands off)
-Zip-loc baggies for making ice packs to mitigate goose egg swelling for when child falls in hallways and knocks himself silly (experience has taught me this one, LOL - he still has a mark on his forehead from WL hallway tumble that resulted in a travel mug to the forehead)

My son woke up with a high fever on our last trip and was so happy that I had those Motrin chewables in the room. Poor boy.

but I don't carry that with me to the parks. I bring

- Precut moleskin(cut blister sized)
- small tube of Tylenol, Motrin sold in the travel area The tube is about three inches high and thin. Place some antacid,benadyl in there if needed
- bandaids, a few sizes. I find bigger is better. Lots of scraped knees
- a used tube of pain relief neosporin cream, rolled down like toothpaste so it takes up very little room.
- a few safety pins
- a small tweezer, for those playground splinters.
all this fits easily into a little coin purse that I transfer from bag to bag.

Anything you desperately need can be purchased at Disney.

The only thing that I didn't see on your list is Bee Sting Aid, it helps take the sting away after being stung. I loved the blister bandaids on our last trip, they stayed on really well. Good luck!

The lists so far tend to look a lot like mine. The one Thing That I will never travel without again is a good OTC decongestant. I had my regular prescription allergy meds with me but I could not get the pressure to release from my ears from the flight in and ended up having to run to Walgreen's for some so that I would be able to make it to the park the next day feeling well enough to want to do anything... Not sure what I used that worked so well but know that it did not contain Ephedrine. I know some Divers that recommend the same thing because it can really get you out of a bind.

Just thought I would add this.

In addition I also bring a roll of guaze, some tape, small scissors, icy hot (or equivelant), an ace bandage, also rubber gloves, but I work in the med field, so might be more paranoid than most. :umbrella:
