Does Disney accept personal checks? We will be upgrading our tickets to annual passes and was needing to write a check for the upgrade. Strange but I tried to pay for our ressie on line and the error message stated our bank is not registered with WDW to take their debit visa cards. So I am assuming this will still be the case when I arrive. Sooooo Will I be able to write a personal check? Thanks!

I've never tried to write a check at WDW. So we can send this back to the top to see if anyone else has.

What a great question. I bump it back and see if someone has a great answer.

I have written a check at the resorts. It's been several years ago, though. It was prior to having a debit card. I don't know if they still accept them, though. Sorry, I'm not much help.

Yes, they do. We always pay for our APs with a personal check and have never had a problem. We purchased 3 PAP and a MYW ticket this past may and paid with a check - no problems!

I know at the resorts they'll also cash personal checks for you up to a certain limit per day (it's small though... like $50).

Thanks !! I will try my debit card but if there is a problem then I will have my checkbook with me!

Not trying to be nosey, but check your banks limit on your "charging" with your debit card. I had recently changed banks and there was a daily "charging" limit and if I was making a purchase larger than that it would not go through even if there was the $$$$ for the purchase. Just a thought. But We were there in Feb, and were able to pay our room charges with a personal check with valid ID's. We did have to leave the credit/debit card numbers when we checked in though.

It's ok .. your not being nosey.. it's a good thought.. but I had a problem with the limit before on the debit card and I know that is not the problem this time. I called WDW and they said the payment went through after 3 tries and they did not recognize the "error" message I was receiving. I will go with a debit card and checkbook and we should be fine! I like charging back to the room anyways it's so much easier! :wave2:
