Personal All Star Sports experience. Just came home today.

Well, since you broke the rules and I have NEVER had a Disney CM tell me that I could swim at "any" pool, I don't feel sorry for either of you. Personally I hope that next time you "crash" at the YC/BC they make a scene and embarass the HECK out of you as they deport you. I have watched them do it and I LOVE it.... :rotfl2:

And if you want to see bad service, check into the GF... I ran screaming back to the All Stars! I could stay a month for what the GF cost and the GF's motto should be "You are LUCKY we allow you to stay with us, our staff does not have time to talk to a guest"

OP although All Stars is my favorite Disney owned resort if you decide to stay at a hotel with better service than All Stars on your next trip I would highly recommend you stay at the Swan or the Dolphin. (Only resorts other than the ALL Stars or possibly AK-to see the savanna from my balcony--not for the no service I can expect) I would stay at that located on Disney Property. They are 4 star hotels, they are not owned by Disney and they have 4 star service.
The GF and Poly are only rated as 3 star hotels as are Disney's other Deluxe and home away from home resorts. Their service is worse than a 2 stars ometimes
Take a look at this thread about the GF.

Hope your next stay is much better!

I can't see at all how this post is a troll. I think the OP was merely stating his opinion. I happen to agree with him. We stayed at ASMo and was very, very disappointed, but probably shouldn't have been. As has been said many times, you get what you pay for. I agree that the place smelled bad. The elevators were smelly and the pool-area smelled like my bassett hound's ears...what's up with that? Every time I walked by there I would think that. Strange. Also, the whole resort looked like it needed a paint job. The doors were all scratched, it looked run-down in some areas.

We also had over a two hour bus wait after leaving MK one Saturday evening. It WAS after closing, but it was almost midnight before we got back to our room with park closing at 9pm after WISHES. It was a nightmare with two small children!

We also had reserved a fridge prior to our stay and it wasn't in the room and then when they did send one , it didn't work. It took quite some time to get it right.

The one good thing about the resorts I will say is the theming is really great. I loved the over-sized Toy Story area courtyard near our room.

It could very well be, we just had an unusual experience, or I'm just too picky when it comes to Disney. But I also have high expectations when it comes to Disney...even with a value resort and they just didn't meet them.

So granted, we've only stayed there the one time, and fortunately only for a weekend before moving on to our other ressies, but I don't see us returning. You guys are welcome to my room.

Although pretty much everyone who replied to this disagreed with the OP in one way or another, I don't see where anyone got rude or disrespectful. I think of flaming as more along the lines of "you are totally wrong, and stupid for thinking that", not the "sorry you felt that way, we always liked it" that has been the trend here.

I think multiple posts of a smiley guy convulsing with laughter at the OPs post is pretty rude.

While many of the OPs complaints, like the ones about the language barrier, are not complaints I would personally make, I don't see why this post is being perceived as over the top. It is one person's opinion. Apparently different than many of yours. Why does that make it hilarious or laughable?

As for the pool hopping thing, well, would it be the first time a CRO person gave out erroneous information?

I don't see this post as fishing for sympathy at all-- merely a guy with an opinion-- mainly that you get what you pay for with the values, a point well taken.

Anyway, if it is a "troll" post it is a pretty mundane one. Especially since he goes on to praise some elements from the resort and ultimately gives it a 5 out of 10.

I have to say it doesn't what hotel we stay in...the bus stops for ours is the farthest away. We go once a year. Do you think they wait for our reservations, check where we are staying and then say "okay guys they'er coming time to change the stops? :)

I can't believe that nobody has jumped on the "pool hopping" that was mentioned more than once in this thread.

:rotfl:

This is what I am sitting here :rotfl: about.

And what about the poor soul that has a difficult time getting over to the BC so they can pool hop. I think Disney should pick them up in a limo and drop them off. :rotfl2:

You are on the low end of the totem pole at the All-Stars, but I definitely don't think Disney goes out of their way to let you know that.

I agree! I have never been made to feel as if I were in a different class simply because I was staying at a value. IMO, Disney has a wonderful way of making each guest feel special - part of the magic!!

ok then where is it a rule that you cannot? I agree non-onsite guest should not be allowed to use there pool. But we always stay on-site. And no not always at the Value resorts :earboy2: We also visit WDW 6-8 times a year. So I feel I have well paid my dues to be a onsite guest and use onsite luxurys. And no I dont go around breaking rules, I am a grown adult not a kid. But until something is said or a rule is posted what am I doing wrong?

Heck when Stormalong Bay was being refurbished (slide pool) 3 quite pools still open, they ran a shuttle to Board Walk so they could use the slide pool there.

I think you read to much into my post if I am the one you are reffering too. Its very easy to go from AsSp to BC. Ride the bus to BB and then get on the bus to BC. All I was saying is there is no direct shuttle from resort to resort.

While I have never stayed at the all stars, my children have and there were no complaints. I have stayes at 2 of the moderates. I find them to be too large for me. I do not like having to take buses everywhere and having to transfer.

I have stayed at AKL which is very nice as long as you have a car.

My favorite resorts are the monorail and boardwalk resorts. Granted you pay extra, but to me it's worth the extra. If I was 20-30ish any resort would do, but pushing 60 I need a resort that offers a little more convenience.

If I was visiting on a tight budget I would stay at a value resort. Being on Disney property is better then no trip at all, Yes! I would do a value and never look back.

I just got a great laugh reading this post. Yes you can tell that the sports are a value hotel. I didnt do any water parks, so all I cant say anything about the transportation there, but the other buses were great. Now the fact that you had to walk forever to get to the parks?? hogwash. The only park that was a L..O..N..G walk was Epcot, but then just imagine if you drove to the park :earseek: now that would be a long walk! :rotfl2: I was also prepped and ready to be standing in packed buses from what i read here on the forums. To my surprise we only had 2 buses that went to all of the All stars. Yes the beds suck. But your at a hotel.
The only thing bad I can say about Sports are this: We stayed in Homerun so the pool was right in front of us (very convienent) But the walk to the restaurant for a refill on the mug, got very old! It would be nice if they had refill stations at various points on grounds. And they were always running out of ice!!!!!! When my DW said something about the workers said in their no english way "use other side" :rotfl2: Yeah ok, whatever. Well after some observation we decided to fill our cups and water bottles with just soda no ice. We could get ice at the room. They need to also put up signs that say the football field is a hard hat area!!! There was a little league series going on when I was there. The boys were well behaved but watch out for bad ball tosses while walking back to the room!
Anyway for a value hotel it was a good exp. I want to try and afford a moderate next trip though, we like some pampering ;)

Yes and the last TWO times I have stayed at the Swan maid service failed to make up my room one day each time.. So much for "4 star service"

Even the GF did make up the room!

Just wanted to note that Boardwalk stops can be pretty far out too, at least at the Magic Kingdom (one of the few places we don't drive to). We were at the end of the row, even with the AllStars resorts in another row. We have stayed at Pop (and will again in Sept) and have never felt like second class citizens.

The rule is posted on signs at all pools and in the brochures you recieve at checkin. Pools are for the exclusive use of the guests of that resort, not "all" Disney resorts.

If you are staying at All Star you are definitely not paying for the use of any other pool, only the ones at All Star.

Surely you are a troll???? LOL!

Just in case you aren't, may I suggest that you go back and READ. There are LARGE signs at the entrace to SAB that say for "YC/BC Resort Guests Only" I would think that since you can type, you can read but.....

I think I must have missed something here......

Are some of you guys actually laughing at the OP for giving his opinion?

Maybe it's a private joke.......or something to do with another post that I haven't read....and if it is, I apologize...

But HOLY COW you guys!!! What grade are we in? :confused3
