Persistent "Sorry, this Resort offer is no longer available" error

I had a ressie for VGF, but really wanted BLT. I saw 8 consecutive nights of the 9 nights were available for BLT, so cancelled all but the 1 day at VGF, then tried to book the 8 days at BLT and got this error:
"Sorry, this Resort offer is no longer available. Please select an alternate Resort or click the link above to change your search."

OK, so maybe someone clicked on one of the same days and has a temporary hold. So, I keep trying, all nights still show available, and I still get same error. 20-30 minutes later (after any booking hold would have expired) all nights still show available and I still am getting the same error.

Anyone see this before? I haven't. Given it's 8 nights at the 7-day window I guess the odds that someone else is searching on the same criteria is pretty high, but still you would expect at least one of the days to eventually show up as unavailable instead of persistently showing up available then giving this error.:badpc:
 
The kicker is it won't let me waitlist the reservation even after saying they are unavailable since the system still shows them as available and still provides a "Select this Resort" link instead of a "Waitlist This Entire Stay" link. :headache:
 
Good hour and a half later still showing available but getting this error.
 

I was trying to book for BLT too and got that same message. It has been going on at least since 9am. I called and they said the system would be updated shortly as those days were not available.
 
Same thing happened to me at AKV. I canceled my original reservation first and then tried to complete the booking. Thank goodness I got my old one back!
 
That has got to be about the worst system error that can occur. When something so drastic as availability is not being accurately shown at 7 months out occurs, DVD should immediately either shut doiwn the system from use until fixed or put up a sign on the website that notes the problem.

I've found three identical situations that are persistently showing availability and have been for the past 2 days (which is highly suspect, since they the past two days were exactly at the 7 mos. window, and fall on a weekend, and are during a busy October break weekend):
10/18-10/26 BLT 1 Bdrm Lake Vw
10/18-10/26 BWV 1 Bdrm Garden/Pool Vw
10/18-10/26 VGF 1 Bdrm Lake Vw

All three show all days available--and have for past 2 days, yet all 3 result in this error.

I was not so lucky -- I lost my VGF ressie I had since I needed the points to book BLT, and by the time I figured out what was happening the first two days of my old ressie were gone, blocking the remaining days. Hopefully they get this fixed, as I don't want to lose any more reservations.

Thanks Quincc19 for directing me to this thread. I am having same issue (trying to book a night at VGF that shows as available just to get a the red 'this resort is not available' message). I need to tweak my Aug trip due to us just adding on points and having banked 2013 points that will expire. I want to either add on 1 night at VGF in a 1BR or cancel my 2 nights at SSR in a studio and book 3 nights in a 1BR. I am afraid to cancel the SSR without knowing I can secure the 1BR that is showing as available. And I cannot book the VGF 1BR showing as available. I called MS today and was put on hold for a long time and eventually gave up and hung up.
 
Looks like it's happening on VWL & VGC too. I'll be doing my 1st ever 7 month booking in a few days. This is so not encouraging.

This is still happening after the site went down for nightly maintenance and came back up this morning -- for apparently the 3rd day in a row for the 3 examples above :surfweb: (not coffee).

I have emailed support several times and referenced my examples above to repro the issue, and referenced this thread for evidence this issue is widespread. Email response can take "days" (which I've never understood why instant electronic communication should be slower than a phone call, but that's another rant for another day :scared:), so who knows if this has even been escalated to anyone. I also provided survey feedback (which happened to come up while dealing with this issue :mic:) and provided the same information. Please tell MS you are having this same issue and ask them to escalate it to their technical support team. Right now MS is clueless about it just writing it off as temporary glitch, which it does not appear to be now going on at least 2 days if not 3 for the same exact rooms.

Just to clarify for any newcomers finding this thread, these resorts are in fact not available for the past two days inside the 7 mos window (10/18 & 10/19) when you call MS, but have shown up as available on the website for the past 3 days, despite likely selling out immediately at the 7 mos window (which is typical for these resorts/room types, especially on a busy Oct break weekend). I'm not sure if this issue is just occurring for these dates (and dates including these dates) or other dates in the past (can anyone confirm)? I'd suggest doing all ressies through MS at this point if they involve cancellation of an existing ressie, and make sure they check availability first. May the Force be with you. :wizard:

Needless to say this can wreak havoc when you cancel one reservation to book another, which hopefully I can be the sacrificial lamb and serve as a warning to everyone else. BTW, if anyone is cancelling a 1Bdrm VGF std vw or BLT lake vw 10/18 and/or 10/19 and wants to give me a heads up when they cancel please PM me so I can grab them and be back in business :hyper:
 
Checked again this morning (6:30 CST) and still getting the same error message. I am just looking for one day in November at BLT besides the "temporarily unavailable" I cannot WL either. I did have 2 WL that came through and they cleared on my vacation page but still cannot WL because the "error" page tells me I still have 2 WL active (which I don't). I know RFC0001 posted they couldn't WL either.

I will try and call MS this morning, but I don't have a lot of time so I am not sure I will be able to speak with anyone. I will e-mail them as well.
 
Still doing it for me too. Those who cancelled resies based on this false availability should raise holy heck with MS to get your resies back. So sorry this happened to you. Good luck!
 
Count me in on this too! Still not working this morning...........
 
Wow! and does anyone else find this unacceptable? Trying to call MS and my wait time is 35minutes?
