The conception of this trip is basically where the title comes from. Like many other people here on the Dis, I was thinking about our next trip before our last one even ended.
We got home, and my subtle hints to Matt began. Mentioning package prices, talking about how much it would cost to rent DVC, looking through pictures of previous trips. Anything to get him to agree to another trip ASAP!
He was adamant that we would take a trip somewhere else before our next Disney trip.
(Long)Sidenote: Less than a month after our last WDW vacation we were lucky enough to go to the Azores! Matt had entered a sweepstakes, where all proceeds went to charity and the grand prize was 4-day trip to Sao Miguel, and he won! Then island was beautiful, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to go somewhere a little different. So… since we went on that trip I sort of used it as an excuse that we HAD gone somewhere between trips
We then started discussing the possibility of a west coast trip, and building DL into the itinerary. I was okay with that, and I got right to the early stages of planning. Since we live in New England, on the other side of the country, we wanted to be sure we got a lot of stuff done on this trip since its such a trek. With that being said we would need to take a lot of time off of work. Long story short, it would have just ended up being way too much time away. We were hoping for at least 2 weeks and it just wasn't feasible with our schedules right now. SO we put it on the backburner.
Back to square one
A couple of months pass…
Until one random morning at the beginning of August when Matt FINALLY gave me the okay to look into renting DVC. But under one condition…. we had to stay at the Polynesian.
I knew that the fall would be WAY too short of notice, and I didn't want to disrupt the holidays because we have too many family things going on every year. So I aimed for the beginning of the new year.
A few stressful days went by waiting to hear back about the dates we could get and getting someone to secure them and then it happened….
The day before my birthday we heard back and we had secured January 16-21 at THE POLYNESIAN
I was ecstatic, but i knew that those 6 days wouldn't be enough. So we decided to book 2 more nights room-only through Disney, and tack them onto the end of the trip. So now i’m just praying for a decent room only discount to come out…
