I am hoping that somebody out there can help me out. I want to purchase the Canadian resident tickets for my mother and I but I worry about the redemption issue. From all the reports that I have read people have been using their passport as id for proof of Canadian residency. Here's the wrinkle, I am a Canadian and have a Canadian passport but my mother is an American who has been living as a permanent resident in Canada since 1982. Her passport is American but she has a permanent resident card for Canada. Her driver's license also has her address listed as being in Canada.
From what I can tell she should qualify for the Canadian "resident" ticket but I worry they may say it is not valid at the point of redemption as she doesn't have a Canadian passport. Has anybody here been able to redeem their Canadian tickets using their driver's license as it has your home address listed on it or has anybody else out there used a permanent resident card?
Thanks for any input or advice!
