HI all

We closed in early Feb. Our temporary cards expire June 9. I emailed MS yesterday and they stated they will "forward" my concern to the appropriate person, but that it will take up to 10 weeks to process my request. As far as I'm concerned this is unacceptable, and I wrote them back to say so. At this point what else can I do? We use these cards fairly frequently at the Disney Store, and would like to continue to receive the 10% discount. Our next trip "home" isn't until December...so there's no rush on that account.

Please let me know what you think. Thanks much!

I know how you feel. I was one of the people who closed in October and I didn't receive my cards until March. Our temporary cards expired in December. All Member Services kept saying was to keep using the temporary cards if I needed to. I didn't use them, but I would not have expected people to honor them if I did try to use them. So, I wasn't pleased either.

However, you still have over a month before your temporary cards expire. So, you could easily get your permanent cards before that happens. It seems that most people have been getting their permanent cards in time. The October closings were "special" because they switched processing companies for the cards (or something like that).

Good luck!!

I was one of those October closers. I called MS and they said they were delayed, but would be sent. After a long while I e-mailed MS and they sent me cards in about 2 weeks but they were for my other contract, which I found interesting because I never mentioned it. Anyways, I re-e-mailed:rolleyes: MS and I did receive the correct set in under 2 weeks. Try e-mailing again.

I also had the same problem. We closed in October as well. As far as The Disney Store, they asked me which one I went to so they could call them and let them know to accept my expired cards - Iwasn't please either.

About 2 weeks later (early April) we rceived our permanent cards (2 days before our last trip)

Ask them if they can send you new temporary cards via snail mail. Since you get them at signing, they must have them. And they can put an expiration date of 10 weeks on there, so you should have your permanent cards by then. (I thought of this brilliant idea after I got my regular cards, of course!)

Thanks for the replies. I'll try calling MS and see if they can at least issue a set of temporary cards again!

I guess I got lucky. We closed in late March and I got my plastic cards a week later. I closed with Disney, did you close through a resale or Disney. I learned through these boards that resales take a lot longer. i hope you get yours soon

Sorry to hear of your dilemma. We received permanent cards about 2 weeks after official closing through Disney.
Our deposit was on Oct 8, 2000. Closing on Nov 8, 2000. Cards came last week of November. I don't understand the 10 week time frame at all. I put my kids on the deed. Never received their cards so I emailed member services and the kids card came the following week. Good luck to you.

We closed direct with Disney in late January (delayed from late December) and did not get our cards till about a month ago. Good luck.

Lauren,

I sure hope you have better luck than I have.

We closed July 1992 and I'm still trying to get a permanent card. My husband and I got our cards after we made our original settlement, however when they switched to the permanent cards he was the only one that got a card and I've been trying to get one ever since. It's literally been years.

My previous attempts were by phone but beginning in February 2001 I started using e-mail. Still no positive results (they sent one in my husband's name). Two weeks ago I called member administration and sent another e-mail to member services. Once again I've been asked to wait another 6 - 8 weeks.

I think DVC will be dissolved before I see this card.

I was lucky, I guess. I closed in March on a resale at OKW. Took 4 weeks from first offer to making first ressies. Two weeks after closing I got my Membership binder with my temporary membership card and a week after that I got the permanent card.

We closed in January, and had not received our cards in March. I e-mailed MS, and a very nice CM tried to help me out. She told me that two further requests had been made for my cards, and that Disney has the cards made by an outside vendor that is not doing a great job.

One week later I got my cards, with my DVC tote. Then in another week, I got a set in a plain envelope. Two weeks later, I got another set with another tote! It seems I got the original set, plus a new set every time they tried to re-order!

If you want to e-mail the CM who helped me, she is Jennifer.Vecere@disney.com.

We purchased a BWV resale, closing on Feb 9, and don't have TEMPORARY cards yet either. :(

Well, I spoke with MS on Friday. They referred me to our DVC guide who I then called. She is out till the end of July on maternity leave. DVC office tried to transfer me back to MS, yikes! No way, told them that's where I had started! Then I spoke with another guide. She said that the request for permanent cards was made when I had emailed MS, but that in the meanwhile she will also request temp cards be sent, in case the permanent do take 10 more weeks (or longer from what I'm reading from other folks) to finally arrive. 15 minutes on the phone :-( sure hope someone comes through!
