Perk app and online account not communicating?

I joined Perk rewards site online first then went to my iPad and got the Perk TV app. I've had the app running for a while and it says I've earned 80 points but when I reload my online account page the points earned are not showing there.
Is this normal?

The website usually has the most accurate point total. Make sure that the app is citing points and not tokens. Then check to make sure that you are logged in under the same credentials for both the app and the website (i.e. if you used FB to log in on the app, use it to log in on the website, too). The website updates in real time, but sometimes the points total gets stuck and you need to refresh the page to get it going again.

I downloaded the PerkTV app a couple of days ago, but I still haven't gotten the verification email to validate my account. Is there any way to resend it? Has anyone else had this problem?
