Has anyone ever done this? I did just book it, now I need help justifying the expense to my DH! :rolleyes1 It's a lot of money for 1 adult/1 child and I am the adult going. My DD's (6) favorite princess is Sleeping Beauty, so I can't imagine not doing this. I don't want to look back on this trip and say that I wish I had done it. I'm afraid that our next trip to Disney, whenever that may be, she will not be into princesses anymore. My DH wanted some "down time" from the parks anyway, and this gives him a chance to "relax" by the pool with my DS (4) in the morning.

Would love others to share their experience with me! :Pinkbounc

Let me just say I know what you are thinking -- I did this - well actually I had my 17 year old daughter go as the adult and take my 4 year old niece who loves Sleeping Beauty two summers ago on what would have been my mom's birthday (she died several years before). Anyway I fretted about it and fretted about it but my underlying thought was if my mom had been alive she would have taken all of us and it would have been a blast.

Now my 4 year old niece can be a handful and she was totally mesmorized by the experience. The pictures I have are beyond priceless -- it is like "who is that child???" She loved it!

I couldn't go because we also had a nephew on the trip and I needed to pick him up during the tea as he was on the pirate cruise. At any rate it sounds like you have the right reasons for wanting to go but just the typical trepidation about spending the money...I say go and enjoy your daughter at this age while Aurora is her favorite!

May I say - JUST DO IT! This will be a once in a lifetime experience. This is the #1 thing we have ever done at WDW.
And your DD gets the doll and other goodies. You will love the show. Have the time a your life!!!

We are going through the same thing right now. I have this booked for my DD (6) on Dec. 21st. It was tough to cough up the dough, but I am feeling confident that it will be worth it.

One week from Sunday!!!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes I get SO excited reading these posts!!! I hope my niece likes it. Just got her some "sparkly" jewelry to wear. :goodvibes :goodvibes

Sorry to ask but I want to take my DD to this during our Dec 06 trip... how much does it actually cost?? I read somewhere $200.... I am sure it can not be that much, but I can not find info on prices and whats included anywhere.
:confused3 :confused3

Also I feel bad leaving my DH out if we go.... do any men go to this or would he just look silly?

Thanks

Ah, it is that much - not including tax.

Wow.... Does anyone know where I can get more information on this?

Thanks

It was great and Rose Petal (the character you see MOST of the time) was wonderful and very funny.

Sleeping Beauty is only out about 30 minutes at the end.

My dd, who then was 4, loved it but it was a little too long. I would have liked it shortened a bit. She got a bit bored until Sleeping Beauty came out then she perked up again.

All in all...glad I did it, but wouldn't do it again.

How long is the tea party? I was considering taking dd3 on our Jan trip, but she probably won't tolerate the length especially if Aurora doesn't come out till the end.

I am doing this 11/29 with my dd6 and dd4! It is a surprise for them and I can't wait to go! AllEars has a very good description of it as well as reviews here: http://www.allearsnet.com/din/girlstea.htm

DH is going to take DS11 on the searaycers while we are at the party.

Cheers

Do it!!

It was good for a once in a lifetime

I think most children would be mesmorized by it - Rose Petal is so great - my DD has a hard time sitting still and was an angel! She wants to go back -

since you get the doll and the scrapbook pages - you are getting about $90 in merchandise - although it cost me another $100 in princess dresses :rotfl:

My 7 year old DD loved this last year! The look on her face when they "announced her" and threw rose petals over her ,was priceless!

OK, its expensive, but for my wife and DD (princess) it was worth every penny. Held in the Grand Floridian, this event treats every little girl like a princess. Each girl gets a table, a tiara, a rose, a charm bracelet, scrapbooking items, and a very big Princess doll (Aurora). Rose Petal comes out to sing and get the girls in the mood while they snack on fruit and heart shaped PBJ sandwiches and get “little girl tea”. The highlight of the even is a personal visit by Aurora for each girl. Sleeping Beauty sits with the girl, has pictures taken, signs autographs, and chats with the little princess. In our case Aurora wrote a personal birthday note to our DD. (This was the day my sone and I spent in Disney Quest doing virtual reality games.)

Just asking again since my question hasn't been answered. I can't justify spending $200 if my dd is not going to want to stay for the entire tea party. Thanks.

10:30-12:00

You arrive

they get a doll and charm bracelet
have tea (the little ones get apple tea - which is really apple juice)
Rose Petal sings & tells a story
you have lunch
Rose Petal sings songs and they dance with her
Aurora comes out and they dance with her
Aurora does a meet and greet at each table
while songs are played (this is the slow part)
Aurora gives each girl a note
everyone leaves

if you go to WDW often - I would say wait until she is older - my DD turned 4 a week after the party - and she LOVED it!! But if you think you will be there when your daughter is 5 - I would wait - I think 5-6 would be the best age range!

Since you used the phrase your daughter "won't tolerate the length" I am thinking she might not be ready for it. My niece is a handful but she knew that this was special and she had to behave, be patient and all that and I never for a minute worried that she would not be able to tolerate the time span.

:worship: Thank you, ladies, for your replys. I think I will wait a couple more years. She loves playing tea party with grandma but I don't think they do it for an hour and a half. It sounds like a wonderful time! Have fun to all those who do it!! princess:

I have booked this for next spring - DD's are 7 & 5, will be almost 8 and 6 when we attend. A friend and her DD attended last year, her DD was 7 and they loved it! She said it was worth every penny. We don't have a son, so I included DH in the reservation - he gets to enjoy their reactions and be the camera guy ;)

Their favorite princess over the years has been Cinderella, but DD5 wanted to be Aurora for Halloween this year so this should be special too. I have Aurora and Cinderella dresses hidden away (Costco special this fall) for both girls for the trip. DD5 ended up falling in love with a Barbie princess dress at Target so I didn't have to buy a different Aurora one or get out the one for next spring.

I have it booked for the last full day of our trip - we are also doing the Cinderella Gala Feast and PSB meals early on.

We'll be watching lots of princess movies this winter to get in the mood!
