WARNING! This thread will *not* help you actually save money!

I am not a weekly or even monthly visitor to the salon/spa. However, my husband would kind of grumble every time he saw it on the credit card bill. So...I found the perfect solution...i took him with me! We've been twice now. Once for pedicures and once for manicures. Mind you, it took me a *lot* of nagging/begging/pleading for him to go with me the first time. My husband is a man's man, so it took awhile for him to agree to go. (He finally gave in for my birthday.)

Side note: I gave him the "full spa treatment" as well. (Think airline size bottle of vodka meets small Sonic frozen lemon berry slushie. Hint: ask for the long straw at Sonic and don't mix until arriving at the spa-open container laws.)

Well, today, he is officially converted. It was his birthday, and he actually asked to go back! The women in the salon ohh and ahh over him, and he just laps it up! I was so surprised how much fun I've had with him both times. So now my husband doesn't nag me about going, but our salon bill is twice as much! LOL

I am going to get us a couples' massage for our anniversary. Loving my new convert!

Too funny! My dh has just stopped biting his nails (he's done it since infanthood) and he's so proud. I thought of taking him to get a manicure :) I refuse to get him a pedicure - that man has feet as soft as a baby and he never does ANYTHING to them! It just isn't right! :rotfl:

My pedicure and mani spending isn't something that hubby even blinks at . He has always said , pretty feet are well worth the expense lol. I would go once a week, but that is a bit much on the pocketbook as I hit about 60.00 a pop before tip. I try to keep it down to once every 4 weeks and keep up with it at home in between .
DH enjoys a good mani a cpl of times a year too ; ). He isn't the only guy I see in there, but I will say we need to teach our men to tip properly. The ladies at my nail place fuss because the men don't usually tip.

He does however roll his eyes when I say I need new clothes because he knows I most likely don't LOL.

This would make about as much sense as my husband taking me out to golf in order to get me to stop kvetching about greens fees. :lmao: (I hate golf!)

Glad it works for you and your husband, though.

Wow, I'm so glad dh & I are on the same page with our vices. We both love Disney cruises and he's willing to work plenty of OT & side jobs to do it.
We're both enablers. :lovestruc

Yeah, that is how well it would go over in our house as well.

It would work on me!

I love massages and manis and pedis. (I never get them though). I am just as manly as most men and never really cared what others have thought.

I even will let my wife paint my toe nails (not during flip flop season). She will be unsure of what color she wants and will paint one foot with 5 different colors. Then she picks the color she wants.

All I know at my house is "ain't nobody happy if momma ain't happy!" :lmao:

Well....so maybe I shouldn't have titled this thread the "perfect" solution, ;). It's been fun for us though since he discovered that, in fact, he doesn't hate it afterall!

I have seen men in my salon a couple of times, and I shared this with my husband. However, the two times we have been in there, of course, there were no other men. I think he thinks I may have lied to him, haha.

Thankfully, my husband is a good tipper. It probably comes from the fact that I waited tables through college, and he knows how important it is. We appreciate being served food or foot massages and tip accordingly.

I told him if he ever decided to leave me, he could probably walk in and pick the wife of his choice from the single ladies in there. He's such a doll!

I love my new spa partner!
