I have people ask me all the time (since I'm the resident expert) what is the best age to take a child to WDW?

What do you think? I usually pick 4-6 years old. Big enough to walk on their own but young enough to believe the magic.

I hear that question a lot. It's a tough one to answer. At each age, there is something special about the trip. 2-3 yrs. I think it's great when they see their favorite characters. 4-6 same thing, just a better understanding, but at this age you may still have a stroller and they may be afraid of somethings or not tall enough for others. Although I haven't been able to experience it yet, I think 10 -12 might be great. Then, there aren't strollers, most likely able to ride anything they want and still little enough to enjoy the characters. But then again, I still enjoy the characters and get excited to see them :rolleyes1
So with that, my excuse to visit every 2 years is to get the all of the age experiences with mine. :teeth: I'm trying for every year though. :thumbsup2

I didn't know there was an imperfect age!!! :thumbsup2

That's what is great about WDW, there is something for everyone there!

Ok good. I'm glad that when I hemhaw (sp) over my answer that I'm not way off base.

Whew im the wrong person to ask that one..lol We started taking my girls when they were about 8 months old..and at least once a year since(sometimes 2 or 3 ..lol)
I think whenever you go it is good, even if the chld cannot remember it, the memories you have and the pictures you can take are just priceless.

82 years old. My parents had a blast! That said, any age is absolutely perfect, unless you don't like anything Disney.

29!!!!

Seriously, my (almost) 3 yr old DD had a BLAST during the trip. She was potty-trained, could walk on her own (although did stay in the stroller), got on the majority of the rides, and BELIEVED that those princesses were real.

My parents waited until my youngest bro was 8 so I was 10 and my sister was 13 and believed waiting until we were older was better. Now my DS will be 2 when we go in January, my parents are coming with and are so excited to see DS in Disney! I think they wish they would have taken us younger! But ANY age is the best, there is something for everybody, and at 28 I still believe the princesses are real!! ;)

I was 5 months pregnant with #2 when I took her and my oldest went for the first time when she was 2. So the younger DD got the better deal she has been there every year since. There is something for everyone at any age. You just plan accordingly. Some people dont feel the same as i do but the magic is magic especially for a mother to watch the excitement on her children's faces whether they are 1 or 9. And when the magic comes mom's way the dd's love that also.

We have a brand new DN that is much more like a DGS and we plan on taking him for his first trip the week before he turns 3!!! My answer however is anytime after 6mo. Thats our youngest "rule".

My First Time Was 37 And It Was The Best!!!!

Of Course It Was The Best Because Of My 3 Kids.
Age 1, 5 And 7
And Would Have To Say The 5 Year Old Had The Most Fun,
But It Was In Part To Having Her 7 Yr Old Brother There.

The 7 Year Old At First Site Of Poo Bear Rolled His Eyes,

And I Caught Him And Said, You Could Play This 2 Ways,
Keep Rolling Your Eyes And Act Too Cool, And You Can Have An O.k. Time. Or Know None Of Your Friends Are Here And Embrace The Magic With Your Little Sister, Brother, M & D And We Can Have A Great Time.
Thankfully He Did, And We Had A Great Time.

Probably More Info Than Anyone Wanted, But.....
