We are planning our trip to the world for this June and I am trying to think of one special thing for the family to do.
My DD is 6 yrs old and completely princess obsessed! We did the BBB when she was 4 and she just loved that!
But with also having a little boy 2 years younger he wasn't of age to sit through a fancy meal or anything. So this summer DD will be 6 and DS will be 4...is this the perfect age? We probably won't be going back to Disney for another 2 years after this trip - which would make DD 8 and DS 6....would maybe that be a better age or could she be to old for the princess thing by then?
Ever since her first visit she has wanted to go inside the castle (doesn't understand that it really is just the walk through) so I was thinking having a meal in the castle would be amazing for her!

So again, what do you think is the perfect age for CRT?

I don't think there is a particular perfect age. I took my DS 10 to CRT and he actually loved it because the princesses made a fuss. If your daughter really wants to go this time around I would go for it I think your son will enjoy it as well! Have a great time! Another alternative is 1900 Park Fare but it's only Cinderella Prince Charming, the stepmother and stepsisters and they may be fearful of them a little bit.

I am thinking of your son more then your DD.... 4 years old for a boy is likely a better age then 6 (or 8) at CRT! He may be just young enough to not care that they are all Princesses but old enough to eat and sing and such!

6 is an awesome age for a girl - maybe just young enough to still really be into it? (My DD will be 6 when we go in Feb. We went at 4 and her eyes just about popped out so I am hoping for a similar reaction!)

We went to CRT when my kids were 1, 4, and 6 (the oldest is a girl, other 2 are boys). They liked it okay and sitting for the meal was not an issue. I actually think my son got a sword, if I am recalling correctly. DH and I weren't particularly impressed with it, especially for 2 dining credits. We thought the food was pretty blah. We took DD to BBB that same day so she was all done up for dinner. I would say it was just okay. We are not doing it again.

We did 1900 Park Fare that year as well too and my older two LOVED that one. They still remember it and talk about it. We are going there again this time.

We are also trying Akershus at Epcot this time, which I've heard is great.

4 and 6 are good ages. Most girls are over the princesses by the time they are 6 or 7.

We went last week. DD is 7 and DS is 2. We all had a great time :thumbsup2
DS got a sword but I didn't give it to him to prevent him from knocking down his cup. He has very happy to meet the princesses, he loves them!;)

we took my girls, ages 6 and 8 and my son, age 3. Despite the fact that my oldest was no longer interested in princesses, she loved it and really loved the Cinderella pic. She is now 12 and asked if we are going next time! (no!)
My middle daughter liked it, but she likes everything. My son loved it, especially getting the sword.

so I think it is not about an age, but the interests of the kids...and its Disney so its always fun

I'm fifteen years old and I have never liked princesses, and eating in the Castle would be practically a dream for me.
