People who use the telephone with food in their mouth

Now I understand if you're eating lunch at your desk and the phone rings and you need to quick swallow your lunch, but what do you say to the person who always calls you with a mouthful of food? They're the ones calling....and do they expect you not to answer so that's the best time to take a huge bite of sandwich.

Someone please tell me something good to say in these type of situations!!

The gal in my office always chomps with her mouth open when talking on the phone to friendss. It sounds soooooooo gross! The talking/chomping at the same time just grosses me out!

I ususally say What are you eating? Then they swallow and stop eating unless they are my husband and he says something like- bacon, or turkey. Dh and I are too comfotable!

One of my friends used to always call me with her mouth full. I hate it when people eat in my ear.

I usually ask them if I could send them a coke to wash it down with. I hate people that do that! My best friend in high school did that all the time. It is disgusting! Even worse is when they finish the bite and then get the belch's..ewwwww

If it's a friend calling, "Ewww, that's so gross! Stop that!"

That is one of my pet peeves in life. Eww. The munching, crunching, slurping, slobbering noises are all amplied in my ear.

Ick! I hate those sounds, too... same as people chewing gum with their mouth open. Makes me practically homicidal!

You want to know what's really annoying? An announcer on the PA system at an auto racing track, who's smacking food in his mouth while he's talking!!!! The idiot who calls our vintage races does this sometimes (besides just being a total borish moron, anyway) and it's soooooo incredibly annoying, I can't stand it! He'll say something, then silence while all you hear is smack, smack, smack and then he'll say something else. Ewwww!!! For God's sake, you pretend you're some kind of hotshot professional... do your job properly!!! Arrrrrggggghhhhh!!!

The line I've used is "Gosh, it sounds like you're in the middle of eating. Why don't you give me a call back when you're done?" The two people I've had to use it on have never again called me while they are eating.
