People who stay longer than 10 days...

We've been going for 13/14 nights the last few trips and have a 14 night trip coming up at the end of Nov/beginning of Dec. AP's don't work for us because we go every other year so we do 10 day park hoppers. We usually go to Universal one day(might do 2 this trip), we have a day where we do a guided bass fishing trip on Crescent lake and then we usually relax the other days going swimming/DTD/mini golf/resort hop or whatever we want. It works out good for us :thumbsup2

We were at WDW 28 days last trip. It takes us about 33 hours flying (incl airport layovers) and it costs a bomb from NZ so we too need to make the most out of it.
We usually do US/IOA plus SeaWorld last trip we did Busch Gardens and loved it-rate it above all WDW parks except MK. We have also done the space Centre in the past.
At WDW we have hopper+Water parks and more so we do the waterparks, play mini putt, Splittsville at DTD. Tried to do Characters in flight several times but the weather never cooperated....
We book a resort character meal, watch wishes from Poly, do the chip and dale campfire.
Last trip we did the Pirates and Pals cruise and it was well worth the $, DH did the exotic car experience as well.
Are you on site? We were at AOA and they had lots of various activities particularly around the pool.

we've never done a waterpark actually lol. I always figured my kids were still too young to really enjoy it... maybe im wrong?

How old are your kids?
We did do the waterparks last trip and our kids were just too young.
We will go back again when they are older and at least the older 2 can swim on their own-if we had only one needing active supervision it would be fine.
We didn't have a great time as our kids were 19 months and 3.5 at the time, as adults we would have liked to do summit plummet etc but the waits were too long (no FP and no rider swap) and it was just too hard for the parent keeping an eye on the young ones.

Last trip we extended to 12 days. Too hard to resist as we had free dining, which made adding on nights under $100/night(value hotel). To save money, we needed up with 6 day base tickets and 6 days WPF&more. Did 2 days at each waterpark and 2 days at Disney Quest. It was absolutely wonderful.

Our last 14 day trip, we added water parks and did MNSSHP on one of the days. Downtown Disney on another day, a couple of swimming at the resort days and we were still left wanting to stay longer. LOL

We have gotten APs for the past several years, but this year it won't work for us since we're probably going back the same time frame next year- the APs would expire before our next trip begins. So, we're stuck with 10 day passes for a 13 day trip. We are going to MNSSHP and Villains Unleashed, so that takes care of two days. We have 1 day tickets left over from previous trips, but I don't think we'll use one because we're leaving around 12:30 on our last day, so maybe I'll just add WPFM and do mini golf or DQ that day and in the mornings of the parties. We've been to WDW a handful of times and never had the desire to do the water parks.

We do 13 days usually and we don't buy APs. We fill the days with resort days, either our own or visiting others, Downtown Disney, etc. It's nice to slow down in the middle on the vacation and have a rest day.

It depends what time of year you go.

We go for almost two weeks every August and we have not done the waterparks. It usually rains daily and there are often periods of thunder and lightening. The weather is too unpredictable for us this time of year. We also took a trip in the winter. Weather was too cool for a waterpark when we went.

Agree about the winter months, but even in August and September when it rains everyday it is usually only in the late afternoon.

How old are they? My 4yo loves the water parks. Blizzard Beach is better for the young kids, IMO.

I'm confused about the 10 day ticket thing. Our trip next year included 7 day tickets with 7 days free which covers our whole stay.

Ask anise friend from the UK to get you a 14 day or even 21 day pass.

14 days is around £280 and the 21 day is around £300. They include water parks and Quest but not parking (unlike the AP) :thumbsup2

If you do decide to go with APs, please consider Tables in Wonderland. It is a card that costs $100 and saves you 20% off of almost all table-service meals, and even some counter service meals at resorts that don't have TS restaurants. You also get free valet parking if you are dining at a resort.

There are some blockout dates:

Since it is good for a whole year, you can use it for both trips you are planning 11 months apart, and it can save you a *ton* of money. It also won't lock you into the snacks / meals / desserts requirements of DDP and it is good for appetizers and alcoholic / premium drinks.

I would absolutely do this and this is what we do. Go 10 days with AP and TiW. Then go 11 months later, passes are long paid for and TiW has paid for itself. Now enjoy the freedom and discounts (merchandise etc)

We're in the UK so could buy 14 day tickets to cover all our holiday. They also include park hoppers and water parks too!

The one time I went for a full two weeks, we spent two days at Universal, and went to Busch Gardens in Tampa one day.

Oh, and purchased DVC on our last day!

It always amazes me that people can spend that long at Disney and NOT do the water parks.

I have been to Disney dozens of times and have never been to a water park. I have no desire. I usually don't even go into a pool at my resort.
