My plans are changing due to my penny jar empting rather than filling up. So we'll more likely go later in the year now. Most likely at the start of July.

Is it terribly busy during this time? I know the UK kids holidays don't start till mid July but have a feeling the continental school holidays start much earlier?

Im pretty sure that by this time the fireworks are back on, can someone confirm this please as i've never looking into going at this time of year before

:) Thanks for any help

From what I recall Glenn, it is busy as I'm sure some of the European schools break up at the end of June.... I'm sure someone else will be along to offer more help soon enough!

Ive sure Scottish and Irish schools also finish at end of June as well. I think the summer season with fireworks started about 5th July last yr but in the past its often been round Bastille day (14th)

I'm going to brave the crowds next summer. I'm expecting it to be very very busy.

the crowds can be manageable if you make full use of fastpasses and EMH. last year we bought some fastpass tickets off ebay which were useful as well!

We've always gone in July mainly because we enjoy the late park opening and the fireworks. Last year we went right at the end of July and found it very busy but still manageable using EMH and fastpasses. Going this year as soon as I finish for the summer.

Our trips almost always are at the beginning of July. As stated the fireworks commence from Bastille Day although summer season starts slight earlier.

We enjoy these trips and it is a good idea to make use of EMH and fast passes to minimise the amount of time queuing.

Have a look at past trip reports as they will give you a sense of the parks.
The compensation of busier parks is much longer opening hours :goodvibes

Our school holidays start 2nd July this year, slightly later than normal

I went last year 6-9th July.

Fireworks started on the 5th and are really worth the crowds - as is fantillusion!

EMH and FPs are your savior during this time of year, as in the afternoons it was literally so rammed with poeple you couldn't walk in some parts of fantasyland and frontierland. Queues for popular rides all topped 2 hours also.

I had a magical trip though and wouldnt be put of doing it again.

Best trip we ever had was in July.

Very busy by day, but really not that bad during the evening.

We watched the fireworks directly once, and the other nights saw them from the top of BTM ;)

its not that bad, its bad but not that bad... :)

thanks everyone, it looks like we'd be going the week of Bastile Day so very glad we would see the fireworks.

We went early September last time and it seems that this is a fairly quiet period in comparison.

Just unsure whether it being more busy would be a negative or positive when looked upon in relation to the fireworks and longer opening times.

hmmmmm, lots to think about. Thanks all

This was the week we went last year. Purely accidental! Even more fireworks on Bastile Day, and a fantastic atmosphere :thumbsup2

Sounded very good then as we had no fireworks when we went last time in sep :o(

I've been on Bastile day previously - it rained for 3 days so there were no queues!:lmao:

Seriously though it wasnt too bad you just have plan your days - and I think busy parks are worth it for fireworks!

I've been several times in August ~ I think the longer hours and fireworks far outweigh any crowds or queues. :thumbsup2

I've been in august a couple of times and this year we are going in July. the main pull for this time of year is of course the fireworks!! I've NEVER been when they haven't done them and I wouldn't want to either! I love the EMH, the late closing and the crowds don't bother me as it's usually warm....unlike at new year when we froze and it was too crowded to watch the fireworks and my dad was extremely grumpy because of it.

So again the extended family venture out mid year for the last DLP trip until we return to Orlando next year. Bring it on!!
