Has anyone else traveled outside the country with People To People? My DS has been referred to their program and wants to go to Australia with them....fundraising will be quite the task!

There are a few threads regarding the program. My DD was asked for the Australia trip last year but wasn't able to go. They asked this year for the European Discovery trip and she's going. They will give you a fundraising book if you ask. Also, you can do a google search and find companies that will let you fundraise individually.

My fiance went to Australia with them in '91. We were just talking about his trip the other day - he had a great time and would love to do it again if he had the opportunity. He sold chocolate bars for fundraising at the time.

WOW! It is great to see other people across the country in this program! I wish I could go with DS....but I don't have a teaching certificate! :guilty:

My DD went this past July on the European Heritage trip. She was 13 at the time. They went to England, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, and Switzerland. She loved it! I wish we could afford to send her again next year, but can't. Maybe 2007.

This is the one my DS would actually like to go on. We went to Missoula yesterday to the first meeting. Now he has to get the reference letters and application set. They will interview back in Missoula in 2 weeks. Our regional area goes on the Australia trip. I told DS if he raises the bulk of the money and likes it, if he wants to raise more money, he can go on the Europe trip! We'll see... :confused3

My DD was to go to Australia with Soccer next July but they changed the trip to Holland. My DM gave her the option of going there or a pool. She chose the pool - don't really blame her there. The organization gave us the option of full refund so we took that option. It sounds like a really good program. Maybe down the line if they go back to Australia, we will try it again. DD and I will be going to Hungary with HVYC in April, should be alot of fun - can't wait. :cool1: :Pinkbounc
