People Peeves

Drivers who think they are being safe because they drive at or below the posted speed limit, who then do not use a turn signal.

My biggest pet peeve of the day is when posters on the DIS continuously write in run-on sentences.

well...I understyand that and don't really like it myself but I do admit I do it a lot I guess sometimes it is easier to do that but I understand how it could get anoying very annoying I have a friend who talks like that and never pauses I get that way when hyper though boy am I glad I don't do the run on sentence thing:p

*snicker* I'm glad you don't too! *more snickering*

My mom and my sister make stuff up about me that supposable happened when I was small. I don't get why they want to embarass me,

It happened last nite at my goddaughters graduation ceremony.

There was this guy there that we knew when we were pre-teens.
We lived below the hill from his house and you could see our back yard from his back yard. I guess one day he was calling my name. My dad came in the house to tell me someone was yelling my name outside. Later that day I did talk to him, cause we were friends.

Anyone this guy was there and he turned around with his video camera and taped me. I didn't think much of it, cause everyone was taking pictures and video taping.

My sister proceeded to tell everyone why he was video taping me. The whole story about this guy when we were little, how he would stand on top of the hill and yell Marisa, Marisa, Marisa, I love you Marisa. It happened once My husband looked at her like so what. I finally told her to get over it, they guy is gay, always has been, and always will be, he was just a friend I had and And he never said I love you. (That shut her up real fast)

I guess that is my pet peeve, people that make more out of a story to embarass someone else.

Yup, love those embellishers! I coached a friend through the delivery of her DD. At one particularly intense moment I was trying to distract her and said "Look at all that hair Lori" Well, she delights in telling people how I freaked out at the hair on her babies head! I did no such thing, was just making a comment that would hopefully keep her mind off the pain and on the goal. And if ever there was an "embellisher" it would be my mother. Lord almighty I could go on for hours about her antics but I won't....

I agree with all the driving pet peeves, and I do like punctuation when I am reading a post.

My biggest PP is someone at the movies that sits in back of me and kicks, puts their feet on, or bumps into the back of my seat. And doesn't stop after asking them to. And of course, people who talk during the movie.

I went to see Hidalgo, and there were some subtitles during it, actually quite a few. The woman in back of us read every one of 'em to her son, who was old enough to read, but probably not that fast. At least if she would have talked a little louder, I wouldn't have had to read them for myself.

I hope she didn't take him to see "The Passion of The Christ".

A new person pet peeve of mine is DIS members that pick apart threads/posts and make an issue out them when it isn't warranted. It's almost like they are looking for an argument and their day will not be complete until they get it.

Just your threads or anybody's? :)

Both actually - I guess I was raised to believe that if you don't have something nice to say, then don't say anything at all. The only time I post something confrontational is in defense of somebody that is getting picked on.

Pet peeve: Folks in public places (such as a restaurant or store) that talk on the cell phone loud enough for all to hear. It's especially annoying when they seem to be "following" me - there's no escape!!

I also am bothered by young kids who call adults by their first names...sigh, guess I was raised in a different time!

People that drive slow inthe left lane. MOVE into the right!!
What I hate are the people who tailgate me when I am in the right hand lane. If I'm not in a hurry, I'll stay in the right hand lane so the faster traffic can go around me. It almost never fails that some moron will get behind me and get right on my tail, giving me looks like I am holding him up, when he could simply go around me.

I hate busy signals! Ugh! However, I refuse to get call waiting because I think it's extremely rude to tell someone to "hold on" while you're talking to them on the phone so they can get another incoming call. Drives me nuts!:hyper:

If that really bothers you, you should have particpated in the cell phone thread on the DB. That was a hot one. :)

People peeve in traffic would be those that slow down, then speed up, slow down, speed up, and on and on it goes. Pick a speed and stick with it!

People that consistently brag.

People that constantly say, "It must be nice....." Yes, it is nice to have or do, and I earned it (and don't brag about it).

And last, but not least, those (few) that make the now homeless DBer's feel like lepers.

You forgot commas in your sentences.

Since all the orange barrels are everywhere it seems because of road construction....

my current pet peeve is about the drivers who fly by all the traffic after passing a "CAUTION: LEFT LANE CLOSED AHEAD" .....

in the left lane!

then...when they get to the orange barrels closing the left lane...either nudge their way into the line of traffic...

or put on their turn signal and expect you to let them cut in....
