I have a friend who is coming to visit on the last few days of her trip, and Islands of Adventure is a huge priority for her. She's a coaster fiend.

I can't give her exact dimensions because I don't know her dimensions! :)

I'm just wondering if people can offer some advice on how Universal (moreso Islands of Adventure than the Studios) handles folks of size??

TIA! :)

On the coasters at IOA (Hulk and Dueling Dragons) rows 3 and 6 have double strap shoulder harnesses for those with larger upper body measurements. On Hulk, if there is an attendant at the time you ride, just ask him or her for a row with one of the larger seats. On DD, you just position yourself in either row 3 or row 6. There are also test seats outside both of the coasters; a regular size seat and a test seat with the double strap shoulder harness, so she can test out the fit before getting into the queue. There is also a test seat outside the entrance for Dr. Doom.

At USF, there are no larger seats, but there are test seats outside The Mummy and Men In Black so she can get an idea before riding.

I weigh 225 lbs and am 5 foot 5 inches- cloths size tops 2x or 22 and bottoms 24- chest 42c- I fit on all rides and fit nicely in all seats. If she is bigger than that she may find it tight on some of the kids coasters and on Mummy- I had room to "grow" so to speak on Mummy but I was in the yellow zone and you can't ride if the bar doesn't go far enough down on your tummy. I saw many people who looked bigger than me in the waist and chest riding without any trouble. She will probably be fine. if she wants to give the other guests a fun time- have her ride Jurassic River- the bar goes down to the biggest waist size=all the other people have to hold on for dear life during the fall!!!

I am about the size of daydreamer also. I had a problem last year on hulk. They told me to switch with my ds because the seat was bigger and I then fit. This year I just automatically just told the lady who was loading that I wanted the bigger seat. I went on every other ride except the one where you go way up high and then drop (hate that ride). Did not have any problems.

In march we rode Hulk on all rows but one time the cm held us back for the bigger seats Which annoyed me as we had fotl i asked y and he said for bigger seats i informed him we had rode from front to back no probs he apologised and let us pick which row next even front of row but I understand he was only trying to save me my blushes as I am a larger than life character
 but i found no probs on the rides use the test seats as they are pretty useful:jester:

OMG! I rode in a row on JP with my sister-in-law, who could not fit on the Hulk, DD etc. and three young girls. The bar did not lock (actually I'm a little surprised they let us go), the rest of us were holding on for dear life going down the hill. It was truly the scariest ride of the day.
