People mover, Rocket Rods........What now?

Can someone tell me what is in the place of the people Mover. When we went to DL last time they had a new ride I believe it was called Rocket Rods. They were having trouble with this ride and I think I read awhile back that it was closed. I wasn't a big fan of this ride and enjoyed the people mover better. So did it close and if so is there something in it's place? There is nothing better then sitting on the people mover and people watching during a busy afternoon for a much needed brake.

I'm sorry to report that while the People Mover track is still there, nothing uses it. There was a small flicker of hope around Christmas last year when a couple of what looked like Imagineers were spotted walking & talking along the PM tracks, but so far nothing has come of it. With the revival of the Submarines there is still hope for a PM type ride to return.

I sure hope so....My DS really loved the Rocket Rods because they had spurts of fastness, but I love going to WDW to be on the People Mover again.

this is a huge deal for most of us! We want a new people mover very badly!!!!!!! There is a lot of hope once the sub is finished.

I was nice when the park was close to closing, and the CM's would let you stay on and ride a couple times. At WDW my wife and I rode it for three loops during E Ticket nights. Nice to relax and talk while still enjoying the park

If they brought back a People Mover type ride, it would not include the original cars. Many of those vehicles were auctioned off and others are now fixtures in the Team Disney area behind the park and also at Imagineering headquarters in Glendale. Some castmembers relax inside them during breaks.

Apparently there is talk of bringing back the peoplemover! I for one miss it
