I'm sure this has been posted zillions of times, but I have not figured out the best answer. I'm leaning towards using retractable sharpies for autographs, but I was concerned about bleed through. Are ink pens better? What does your family prefer? What seems to be best for the characters?

Thanks!!! :dance3:

I've always heard to get an oversized pen or marker (thick) so the characters can hold it better with those big gloves they wear.

If you use a sharpie, it might bleed through and you'll need to stick a small piece of cardboard between the sheets.

I used a small Creative Memories disney scrapbook and the retractable sharpies did not bleed through the pages. And, like KigerKat said, the thicker the pen the better for the gloved characters.

Another helpful hint on the subject of the autograph books we put a big fat rubber band on the page to help hold the spot plus it seems easier for the characters with gloved hands to write without the pages flipping back on them. Maybe 2 rubber bands would be better ? We always use a fat sharpie and never had a problem with it bleeding thru. Have a great trip!

We've always used the Creative Memories Round Tip pens. None of the characters have had any problems. We take the caps off before we get to them.

We used the retractable sharpies and over half of the characters gave us a thumbs up about it. They really like the retractable thick sharpies. Mine did not bleed through but our autograph books were thick paper.
