Penny Arcade changes after rehab?

Anyone know what changes are being made to the Penny Arcade?

Sorry I can't help you with any info but I too would love to know whats happening with the refurb? Also have the machines in the penny arcade been moved to another location or are they just unavailable for now? Im off to the parks in May and am a HUGE penny collector

I haven't heard any reliable information about the arcade. Only about CC, GG, and CC.

Coke Corner or Refreshment Corner if you prefer is supposed to be done during early, or for Spring Break. Gibson Girls not until Mid July. The Arcade is between the two so maybe we will find out soon, or maybe not until much later.

Penny Arcade – closed for renovation. Expected to reopen April 26.
Carnation Cafe – closed for refurbishment. Expected to reopen June 2.

We love the Penny Arcade! We always get pressed pennies and a fortune from the fortune teller for every member of my family and keep it with our souveniors. I hope they don't get rid of any of the machines

The changes are that they have eliminated the back area of the Ice Cream Shop with the Crystal Elephant, removed many of the Arcade machines (Including all Pressed Penny machines), increased the size of the candy making area, and moved the registers to the sides.

Thanks for the pics. I am very sad to see more of the penny arcade things go. I love the pennies and the old machines. Glad to see there were still a few old movie machines left. Looks like it will be easier to line up and pay for your candy. It was always a madhouse in there! Is Esmeralda still out front?

I'm very upset that all of the penny machines were removed. The first visit I'd been able to make to DLR since I was a kid was back in 2009, and I couldn't afford to return until January of this year, when the Penny Arcade was closed for the remodel. I did get some pennies in 2009, but I had hoped to get a replacement Cheshire Cat penny to put in my collector's book because my original is in pretty bad shape now. I got that penny at the Penny Arcade so now I guess it won't ever be replaced unless I want to pay a few bucks for one on eBay. I really hope that they relocate at least some of the machines to other park locations, but I'm not very optimistic about that happening. I guess my DLR penny collection won't really be growing from now on. It's just too bad.
