Penguins?

Does anyone know if Mary Poppins' Penguins are at the DLR? My DD is a penguin fanatic! and will be going on a daddy-daughter weekend in Nov. so I'm trying to prepare my very NON DH. Thank you!

My daughter also loves the penguins from MP. She has asked me if they will be there...I have no clue but would hopeful someone here might know.

I think it's luck of the draw. I went one time and they weren't there, I went two weeks later and there were three out and about. Characters like that don't really seem to be a sure thing.

You know, we've never seen them. My DD8's nickname is jadeywadey the penguin (yes, seriously LOL and she loves it, we sing it to the chilly willy tune) and she would love to someday see them but so far no luck. I hope you luck out!!

They used to be part of the Parade of Stars, which ended right before the 50th anniversary's Parade of Dreams. I would try Plaza Inn as suggested below, or take your chances that you might see them in the streets.

I know its not anywhere near DL but on our trip we are starting out in San Diego. On our first day there we are going to be going to Sea World and I have already booked the behind the scenes tour of the "Penguin Encounter" where they let you go and pet and feed the penguins. If your daughter is really into them maybe you should look into it!

Is the M&FB at the restaurant inside DLR at the end of Main Street on the Right? If so, do you think my non DH could ask if the Penguins were Greeting at breakfast that day? Just wondering......

I think you could ask at city hall if they will be out that day. We saw the penguin once at Minnie's Breakfast (2007) and once in the main street area by the flag pole (2008).

From what I understand, the less popular characters (that would probably include the penguins) USUALLY, not always, but usually only come out during the busier times at DL. I would imagine that November would not qualify as a super-busy time that would require more characters out and about, but I could be wrong.

If you think about it, the more people in the park, the more characters they would have to interact with people. That way there wasn't an all day wait just to meet a particular one. But as a PP stated, they saw a penguin in April, and I don't think this last April was incredibly busy either, being that Easter was in March and not April. But who knows? DL can be unpredictable at times. Hope your DH and DD have fun!

Definitely ask city hall. I've seen them on the side of the castle closer to the carosel near the princess store.

And I've also seen them near the hat shop on main street.
