pendant light question????

when we moved into our house, we loved the 3 pendant lights that hang in our kitchen, but they stopped working not long after we moved in. finally had it looked into by an electrician and apparently the lights weren't compatable with the switch (or something like that) so the lights were fried and are no longer usable. I've looked for different lights off and on but haven't found anything I really like or that I think fits into our existing decor.

I just had a thought, though. Am wondering, is it possible to reuse the globes from our current lights? in other words, just get three new fixtures, but attach our current globes to those?

Maybe not all types of fixtures, but I'd bet you could find some they fit. Take them off and take one up to Lowes or Home Depot (or your local home lighting store) to see if you can find a fit. We just had an ugly, very cheap florescent light in our kitchen when we moved in, but we took it out and put up a ceiling light and three pendent lights over the bar. I love the way they look.

I think what MM said. If it will not work, go to your local home supply store (not the chains) and they'll have catalogs full of lights to choose from. It is totally overwhelming!

We have some friends that own a lighting store and you are right, the choices are overwhelming. We put in all new light fixtures in our old house and had a hard time picking everything out because there were so many choices. I also found that they were significantly LESS expensive than going to Lowe's or wherever-and a much better quality. Most of the catalogs are online too so you can browse there and then find a retailer in your area.
