Has anyone flown to disney with their peg perego duette stroller? If so how did you do it, and did you use the disney buses? I love my stroller but am scared about trying to get it there and about the buses.

I have no experience on this, but like you, I would like nothing more than to arrive my first day in WDW and have my peg pereggo duette there and ready for my DD4 and DS -22 months.

However, I will not be bringing it. My reasons:

1. fear plane ride will damage it. As one of the cadillacs of strollers I wouldn't think it would be designed for the beating of checked baggage and clearly it is not carry-on.

2. fear of theft. Imagine the family is in riding It's A Small World and you come out and no Peg. I am sure if someone is interested in scooping up a $700 double stroller the Peg or its equivalents would be the first to go. That's the great thing about the rentals...if it is taken, you just pick up another.

3. fear of not enough trunk space. In addition to the countless cute outfits I plan to pack for my kids, I also plan to do my fair share of shopping while in Florida!

My plan is that I will simply make due with the rental strollers for the vacation. It is not forever - just 2 weeks (1 week at WDW). And the fun of being in the park I am sure will make up for the inconvenience of not having the peg. However, I also plan to make DH push the da*m thing as I am sure the rental is not going to handle like the peg. That will leave me to carry the park map and play tour guide!

We took our P3 without incident.

She is most comfortable in her own and the rental do not have a ton of sun coverage or reclining ability, etc. This just worked better for us.

I'd check Craigslist to see if you could get a cheap Peg Tender for the trip. I see them for $45+ all the time. I wouldn't want to fly with the Duette just because of the way it breaks down, that would make me nervous. Of course last trip we took our Phil & Ted's e3 and this trip we're taking our expensive single, we have a lock we'll use on the wheels when it's parked though.

Not familiar with the Duette, but we bring our Tender Twin tandem stroller every trip, and we're glad every single time. Believe it or not, our tall 8 yo dd can still fit in that thing and fell asleep in it quite a few nights on our last trip. The Tender Twin breaks down pretty easily for a big stroller, not sure if the Duette does the same. Yes, the stroller has gotten a lot of use on those trips and it's starting to show, but the thing is a tank and just keeps going. We don't use stroller much at home any more, but the thing is great on vacation and we don't stress over the wear an tear. It was expensive, but you pay that much just so you can subject it to that heavy use and have it hold up, no?

Yikes.....I see the Duette cost a wee bit more than even the expensive Tender Twin did back in the day. If it doesn't break down as easily as the Tender Twin maybe it isn't a great option to bring.
