Where do you put it on your body at? The center of your waist, side or somewhere else?

I have one and I think it works best on my side but now the count is over 11,000 and I didn't even exercise on the treadmill or walk yet today. (Yesterday with it half way between my side and center of my waist it was over 12,000 with 1 hour on the treadmill at 3.5 miles per hour and 15 minutes on the Nortic Track at a level 4.5.) When I put it on the center of my waist it never seems to count much.:confused3

What is the right place?

How many steps do you average a day?

I always put in on my left side ---- sometimes I forget to put it on until late in the day. But I say my average steps per day is around 10,000 with a good walk or jog.

I like pedometers and I find myself addicting to attain to the next thousand so I'll do a lot more walking.

i find myself frustrated by them. i have a couple - cheap ones at that -- but they reset themselves and i get frustrated!! suggestions??

I don't use a pedometer either, but I've seen one work and it was amazing how well. The person I walked with put hers close to her hip (front-side) and just stepped off.

I have not found that kind of success with any of them yet. The best success is that I guess it got me moving to see what I could do.

I've graduated to a Garmin 205 for outside walking/wogging and I've tried the Nike + with the Nano and even find that not as accurate, but at least I was getting some sort of results when I put in those steps, even if they are not exact.

Good luck with it.

Inaccurariecs??? Boo -- well, I just got mine as a gift from my husband.

Whenever I walk a mile (actually a one mile and a tenth --- it's the circle loop of my development) -- it counts as 2,769 steps both times.

So how many steps is it for your mile?
