Of course, it's inevitable...I keep my dd out of school this week to keep her from getting sick and she wakes up today (we're leaving tomorrow) with a runny nose. With her it's rare to get just a runny nose, she usually gets a fever, ear infection, etc. To take her to her regular dr today would be a waste because it's too early to see if it'll get worse so...

Has anyone used any of the pediatricians in the WDW area (Celebration or Kissimmee?)??? Walk-in's any good (a little nervous about those)..or does anyone know of any places that have "after" hours or weekend hours?

THANKS!!

Disney is prepared for this...I remember going to a MD when I was little for many ear infection and my brother got MONO!! "Mono-man's on the monorail!" we chanted..ahh youth!

They have a list of facilities in the area available at the front desk of the hotel. There are several clinic very close with full range of hours.

Hope your little on feels better!

Thanks, just wanted to get an idea of who/where they are to see who takes my insurance before I have to make a spurr of the moment decision on where to go. I know there's an "After Hours" place at the Crossroads but they don't take my insurance (can't imagine what they'd charge, yikes!)

We ended up a Centra Care 2 years in a row (1st year she was 9 months old and had an allergic reaction to the peniclilan she took for the ear infection before we left.) The second year it was an ear infection. (she was almost 2 years old) This last trip Aug 2003 we made it with no trips to Centra Care. :Pinkbounc

We were pleased with Centra Care, good service, good Dr. and pretty fast (it was faster when we went on a Sunday morning then a Monday.) They also have complamently van service (with a car seat.) Our insruance did not pay us back (it was around 125 total.) but all in all it was worth it. Nice to know they are there. They have a number of places. When you call for the van the driver takes you to the least busy place. We went to the Kissimie place both times.

I would call your insurance today and find out a name of a place now there just in case.

Good luck. Bring any medication you might need with you. Also our Doc adviced us to give her dimtap before getting on the plan if they are stuffed up at all.
