Hi all, Well today I am exactly four months away from our next vacation. I’ve never done a PTR so I thought I might try one this time. As for my title, I am praying, fingers and toes crossed for not another episode quite like my last two. Lot’s of fun but the elements and then there’s just life…seemed to want to get in the way…constantly. First I’d like to introduce you to my little cast starring in our next great adventure.

Linda… (me)…who will be celebrating my 56 th birthday…there I said it. I’m a Disney designer here on the boards. I’m an avid Disney fan and love planning well in advance which has the tendacy to drive my DH crazy. Speaking of which….

Daniel… (DH)… 9 years my junior, he is a super guy that works many long hot hours (kiln coordinator) so I can book us a nice vacation. He’s the one who sighs and rolls his eyes when I mention my plans but he’s just a big kid when the time arrives.

Heather… (DD)…our dear daughter who will be celebrating her 21st birthday. (we’re 2 weeks apart so why not celebrate Disney style…right?) Her last vacation was ruined due to the untimely break up with her BF of four years. She’s much better these days though she’s a lot funnier ( if that was ever possible) and sometimes angrier ( I blame her fathers side.:lmao: )

So where are we going?
We’re going to Disney World of course…5 nights at the Coronado Springs Resort ( despite what my ticker says) with 3 day Park Hopper passes and the Deluxe Dining Plan. Also a day trip at Seaworld...we haven't visitied here since '04. After which we will board the Disney Dream for a 4 night cruise. Our second cruise and hopefully many more to come!

When are we going?...4 months from today!
We leave on October 18th and will return on October 27th…Nine days…our last vacation lasted 17 days folks but that’s another story or TR.:rolleyes1

One thing you should know about me…I hate to fly, I‘m terrified…I avoid it like the flu. I had a bad experience on my honeymoon to Disney in ‘89, tried again for Heathers first trip in ‘97 and that was it. So why is someone who hates to fly doing it? Well it was a challenge of sorts from my DH Dan. He said if we could fly we could go to Disney this year. So we are. Yeah!!!:woohoo:

We usually drive down the East coast some 1,300 miles stopping along the way and taking in the sites. Because Dan has a bad back we stop over 3 nights. So 6 days spent going to and from. Last vacation tried the Auto Train and shaved off 2 days of travel but it was still a long 17 days. So enough of that.

These are our plans so far.
Day 1...Oct 18th…Airport limo will pick us up at 4:55 a.m. yikes…and drive us to TF Green in Providence RI where we will take our 7:55 am Southwest flight. Yikes again!:scared1:

We should arrive at MCO at 10:55 where we will be picked up by Disney’s Magical Express. Once at CSR we will take the bus and spend the afternoon at DTD to do a little shopping and have lunch at Earl of Sandwich. We’ll head back to CSR to relax, maybe use the pool if time allows before going to our first ADR at Artist Point at 9 pm.

Day 2...Oct 19th…Take the bus, busses or maybe a taxi to get to Poly for our ADR at Kona Café for an 8:30 breakfast. Then the monorail to the TTC to catch the Lynx #50 bus to SeaWorld where we will stay to just before closing, leaving in plenty of time to clean up for our late ADR at Citricos at 9 pm.

Day 3...Oct 20th…We’ll get up early and take the bus to the Animal Kingdom where I plan to grab some coffee and a pastry at the Kusifari Bakery. We’ll tour the park and plan to leave before closing to make our way to the Grand Floridian and our Afternoon Tea at 4 pm. Once tea is over it is off to the Magic Kingdom where we will be all night for MNNSHP. This will be our first time for this event. Last time it was just so cold during MVMCP, that I didn’t get to do half of what I wanted. I’m hoping the weather will be clear so we can see the Headless Horsemen and have to have our picture taken with the Seven Dwarfs as well as Cinderella’s coach and the one in front of the Haunted Mansion. Maybe catch a bit of dinner at Cosmic Rays or Columbia Harbor House.

Day 4...Oct 21st…This is Epcot day and also the Food and Wine Festival, also new to us. We are foodies at heart but we plan on snacking around the park, sharing what we buy and I can only hope that we will not be busting at the seams before our 8:30 ADR at Le Cellier. I’ve tried to dine here 2 times in the past and it just wasn’t in the cards. Last year we got held up and missed our ADR and two years before that I canceled at the last minute deciding to dine at Coral Reef because they had the diver then and it was Heather’s 18th birthday. Hey the switch was worth it to see her face when he held up that sign and then there was the cake. Too bad they don’t do this anymore.:sad2:

Day 5...Oct 22nd…Our last day at the World and Studios day. We’ll get a snack at Starring Rolls before starting our day. Can’t wait to see the new Star Tours and I know Heather and Dan will want to ride it as much as they can. Have to utilize those Fast Passes I guess. I have to ride ToT and see Indiana Jones. Dan will want to see the Stunt show. I hear Lightening McQueen has joined the act and then of course the Muppets. Heather is stll ahuge fan of Beauty and the Beast so I’m hoping we will be able to take in the show. Last time she saw it she was 7. We’ll have lunch at Mama Melrose’s and close out the park taking the Friendship boat over to the Yacht and Beach Club for our last ADR at Yachtsman Steakhouse at 8:45 pm. Note all our Signature dining ADR’s are 8:30 or later.

Day 6...Oct 23rd…Get ready early in the morning and wait for our Town Car to pick us up and take us to the Disney Dream. I’m hoping we can arrive early so I can get some good pictures and see the characters before we board.

Day 6 thru 9... Who knows right now. I’m a shutter bug and I recently bought a Nikon S8100...not a SLR but it takes gorgeous shots. I’ll spend a lot of time shooting pictures of the ship and islands and food of course. We might just go to the Straw Market in Nassau and plan on riding bikes on Castaway Cay. I’m part of a Fish Extender group so I’ll be walking the length of the ship with DD and DH. They like doing it too. I’m still planning on the goodies we’ll be giving away.

My time for DCL’s planning center will be July 25th. So I’ll be sitting up until Midnight and trying to claim the coveted Palo Brunch but even at 90 days out, I’m not holding my breath. The next day I will be able to get my port time and see if I have to change the limo time to correspond with our arrival.

I’m still learning to pack light…also a first…lol! I’m hoping to take only 2 suitcases and we will each have a carry on, personal items in a backpack, a laptop and my purse. Is a purse considered a carry on? I will take pictures and video clips from beginning to end so I can write a complete and insightful TR and hope that you all will join me.:goodvibes

Well it looks like a got some views....just need some readers now.:lmao:

Well hopefully my plans will hold up. They can sound good but then things always have a way of happening…especially with us for some reason. I just purchased my e-tickets for SeaWorld today. I figured since Disney is raising their prices it won’t take long for other parks to follow. Still $71.99 each for 3 adults and since we are planning on only one day I opted for the Quick Queue Unlimited for an additional $19.99 per person. Total with tax….&293.88! WOW…But at least we will get to ride the rides…see the shows…have lunch…and ride some more rides without having to wait in long lines. As far a lunch goes, I’d really like to get into Sharks Underwater Grill. The last time we dined here I was able to get ressies about 3 months out, now you have to go to the restaurant on your day of arrival to get a reservation. We absolutely loved dining here so here’s hoping for a repeat experience…if we get in.:rolleyes1

So where do I go from here????

I’m still working on the art of packing lightly…Yeah right! On our last trip we could bring pretty much anything we wanted. We just packed up the SUV, took a backpack with what we would need for the Auto Train, mostly a change of clothes, pj’s, meds and makeup…yep can’t leave home without it. And of course ipod’s, gameboy and laptop with several movies. We had a bedroom which was convenient but not for sleeping. But it was nice having our own bathroom and shower, even though you showered in the bathroom, right over the potty. Lol! No this time we will be flying as I mentioned, first time in 14 years. I’m not sure what to expect though I have done a lot of research and believe me these boards have been so helpful.

So I thought for the sense of nostalgia I would post a few pictures just to re-introduce my family to you and our happy little Auto Train trip from last years vacation not to mention a couple from our last SeaWorld visit.
This was my DD the last time we flew down to Disney…soooo cute

This is DD today…21 in a few months…still has ex problems (EBF…kind of a stalker)
She has 2 tattoos and just recently got her nose pierced. Ouch!

Back on packing lightly…Last trip I wore a pair of comfy jeans down on the train as did Dan and Heather. We brought way too many shorts, tees, cruise clothes, shoes, etc. I had three suitcases packed tightly. One of my errors was to bring a full circle skirt, the kind that is crinkly and brushes the floor. It didn’t wrinkle of course but when folded it took the space of a full size pillow. I even placed it in a Space Bag but that didn’t really help. I brought another skirt just like it and never wore it. A matter of fact it was so cold that during the days, we all wore our jeans. One pair each…wash and wear…wash and wear. All those park and cruise clothes??? Most never were worn.:sad2:

This time DH is taking one pair of dress slacks, two polo’s and one dress shirt with tie. I’m bringing two dressy dresses with accessories. These are full length but fold up the size of a t-shirt. DD is all set with outfits that will also take up minimal space. We are all dressing pirate this time. I have a black crinkle skirt…nice and fitted with a white peasant blouse the kind that laces up the front. DD has her black capri’s and a white ruffle top and DH…well we’re still working on him. :cool:I bought some fabric to make some really cool pirate bandana’s like Captain Jack’s and with some accessories we will be arghhhing with the best of them. There you have it…One large suitcase…One smaller and a backpack plus laptop. This is the smallest and lightest I have ever packed. I’m kind of proud of myself.
Here's a few SeaWorld pictures from 2004 that I dug out of my archives.

Definitely do the flying coaster, they are a blast! (some are a little jerky, but I can work around that... LOL)

I just have to say that I LOVE your DD's tattoo :thumbsup2

:scared1:Um....The bathroom on the Auto Train.....:scared1: Talk about "cozy"

Ride Manta! I was terrified too but well worth it!

heyyy we wil be missing each other by a few days at Port Canaveral :sad1: I leave on the 29th, and will be at MNSSHP on 28th.

and i love the tattoo is that Brother Bear paw???????

How cool would that be to ride a train to WDW.

Thanks for the last report:thumbsup2

I definitely had to comment when I saw you were from Rutland!!! I am in Worcester a little over the Paxton line.
You have a great trip planned! I feel your pain because I also face the challenge of packing light- last time I brought 2 suitcases for 6 days- and I was the only person on the trip! :lmao:

It sounds like fun. I'm not what you call afraid of coasters. I really do love them. Somehow though the thought of facing the ground is a bit daunting. DD already plans on riding it and we usually go as a family...Oh...oh...I didn't get to ride...Rip...Ride...Rocket.:goodvibes

She has a second one that I haven't posted and she's planning on a 3rd...which I believe is her limit...who knows.:banana:Yes though bathrooms were quite something.:rolleyes1Ok, as far as Manta goes...I feel a challenge coming on.:cool1:

I know we are so close on our Oct cruises. Brother Bear? No. The Bear paw is Heathers kindred spirit. The feathers were added and are colored red and white to represent the Polish flag. She put a year into her decision only to be told that her original design would not work. She had 3 days to change it. I think it came out great.:thumbsup2

You are very welcome and thanks for finding me over here. I was beginning to think that I was all alone out there.:sad2:

Hi there, neighbor.:wave2:and welcome to my first PTR. Hopefully I won't bore you to death. I'll try to make this interesting. Packing light...still a challenge but just like Manta...I'm up to it.:cool1:

I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe 4th of July. I'm spending the weekend with my family and will be back on Tuesday with an update. Have fun.:woohoo:

Thanks for reading. I never thought of going back so soon but DH really loved his first cruise.:cool1:

Hi again and hope everyone had a great 4th. Mine was kind of quiet but it was nice to stay at home this year. The humidity was just too much for Heather's asthma and though she is almost 21, we didn't want to leave her alone.:sad2:

So let's continue with this PTR.

Okay…so on riding Manta…ummmmm…I plan on doing it. I’m not to intimidated by coasters. After all we did vacation a couple of summers ago to Hershey Park and Cedar Point. Did almost everything at Cedar but not the Top Thrill Dragster. Had Heather wanted to do it we might all have but I was so on bended knees and kissing the good ole earth when she said…no. I did ride Millennium Force, my first Giga Coaster and yes you can see across to Canada from the top on a clear day. Again for the sake of nostalgia.

Back to Disney. I made my ADR’s at the 180 day mark but it almost didn‘t happen. Seems Disney decided to choose my day for an upgrade. When I couldn’t get online I panicked and made the call to get my ressie’s just to go online a few hours later to change the times. All of our restaurant choices are new. No repeats as much as DD wanted Yak & Yeti and DH, Narcoossee’s.

Last year we tried the deluxe dining plan for the first time and plan on doing it again this year. We’re not doing 3 table meals a day though… way too much food…for us anyway. We plan to have a light snack for breakfast and lunch and then the signatures for our dinners and remain in one park for the whole day except for our MNSSHP night, when we’ll visit the Animal Kingdom during the morning and part of the afternoon and finish at the Magic Kingdom for a long night of partying.

I am so praying for decent weather this time. The last two trips to the world were on the dismal side. Tropical Storm Fay in August 2008 and then bone chilling cold last December. I’m not sure which is worst being soaked to the skin every day or frozen. Neither one as far as I’m concerned. So wish me luck on that one.
These are our Universal park photos…

I'm caught up on your next trip's plans! Sounds great. I've been absorbing all the Dream information because DH said we should do a cruise sometime in the near future. Usually he needs a gentle push to agree to a vacation, so I took this as a good sign! Can't wait to see/hear what you think of it and see your great photos - bring an extra memory card, I have a feeling you'll find lots to shoot!

Are you going to wear your pirate outfits to MNSSHP or are you making fabulous t-shirt designs for the party? I hope you show off all your designs in your report!

Can I ask one non-trip related question: How do you wash the t-shirts with your DISigns on them? I've tried many of the tricks from the DISign board and the designs still seem to run fairly often - even after being washed several times. Any suggestions?

I love your photos! Cedar Point looks amazing. The photo of you guys from December 2010 brings it all back- we were there & freezing, too!!!
