Okay this is our first time flying out of Pearson airport. Where do you recommend leaving your car for a week? Thanks for the help.

I can't tell you what to do...obviously lol. I can suggest and tell you what we do however.

We do not fly out of Pearson because they have some of the highest flight costs in North America. Canadian airports have to pay money to use American airspace and thus the price gets jacked up. We fly out of Buffalo International and save a LOT of money that way. We hired a very nice gentleman when we went in '08 who offered a shuttle service, that way we didn't have to worry about our cars. He picked us up at our homes, loaded up our luggage, talked to the guys at the border, drove us right to the drop off area, took luggage out of the car and helped us in. Then when our trip was over, he was right there waiting to pick us up. We didn't have to worry about directions, cars, parking or anything. It was really nice.

We're doing the same thing again this time, but we've decided to rent a stretch limo. They kids have never been in one and they are going to freak when they see it pull up.

There are several lots in the area (Park N Fly, Skypark etc) that are pretty reasonable but we used one (that I can't remember the name of ) that keeps your keys so make sure you ask first. Pearson has their own lots that are more expensive..there is one lot within one of the terminals, a reduced rate lot that has a train that takes you right inside the airport and a new covered lot called the Viscount Parking Garage that also has the train to take you right into the airport. I recently used the Viscount Parking which was nice because I didn't have to clear the car from snow and ice when I returned and they have a special rate on because it just opened.

If you spend the night before at the Airport Delta hotel they offer free parking for a week.

I highly recommend parking your car at either of the GTAA lots (off site). The first lot is open (not a covered garage) but is accessible to the LINK Train which is a 24 hour automated tram service, much like the ones at MCO that connects the terminals. THe most you will wait for a ride from the lot to the terminal is 5 minutes.

This is the newest "garage", so your car will be more protected from the elements and is attached directly to the LINK Train terminal. My husband used it recently and he thought it was fabulous.

I do not recommend Park n Fly as they use the old bus shuttles that can take forever to come by. It is worth the extra few dollars to park at one of the GTAA lots.

We park right at the terminal....yes expensive but I like to walk a few minutes and get to where I want to go and nothing is better when you get back from your trip and your car is right there. We have used teh park and fly and the shuttle can be a pain....we had to wait once so long we almost missed our flight....never again!
